Hi all,

I turned on my rig yesterday , ready to play a little Grid. The second I pressed the on button I get a beep of about a second, the fans start going but the screen doesn't come on. Nothing . I can eject the dvd drives and have even tried booting off the windows cd , but nothing . Doesn't even show up the bios on the screen .
I have a gigabyte ds3l mobo, E6750, ocz 1066 ram ( 4gigs but have tried with just one) , 8800gt ( which I swapped out with another card just to see... ) .
Nothing .
I am wondering if the h/d has failed ( the whole rig is 6 months old, built from oc parts ) or maybe the mobo , it is a revision 1 version 1 or maybe the psu ?

Can anyone suggest anything , I can give more info if needed. Without the pc even posting to the bios I am at a loss !!

Please help .

Dont need a HDD to see or enter Bios screen.

Could be CPU(doubtful)/GPU(he tried another one)/Memory(try one stick)/PSU(could be).

Try 1 stick of Memory and reset Cmos.

Either motherboard or psu by the sound of it mate.

Lazy BAST :p

Editing my post to save typing.

My advise was sound BTW, could be is not same as is. ;)

I did miss the part he swapped GPU but then nobody is perfect. :)

First: clear your CMOS.

If no joy, reseat all your components and try booting with only the essentials (CPU, GFX, one stick RAM).

If still no luck, try building it outside the case.

If no good, sounds like the motherboard, though could be PSU. Try booting the system with no RAM at all. It should beep a lot - if not, suggests dead mobo or PSU (or, much less likely, CPU.)
