!!!IN STOCK ATI 4870!!!

Cheers Kylew, sounds like it's a way off yet, but still it's nice to know.

P.S. why don't you update your avatar to the slightly less n00b "Hitman" avatar instead of your lowly gangster one ( like mine :( )?

No probs :)

Hey, I didn't notice my avatar! :p, Just changed it now you pointed it out, thanks :D

kylew is savoring his *Unholy* post count! :D

Now back to the HD4870 chatter . . .

hahahaha I didn't even notice my post count either! lol

Lol you really like to live life on the edge don't ya! :p
LOL :D

I know the current crop of cards are all badged reference designs, so it doesn't really matter which brand you go for, it's just the perceived quality (as you said) of owning a Powercolor that's made me hesitate.

Well going by the powercolor 3800's it looks like 1 year. And as the first year is with the retailer it means 1 year warranty with OcUK.;)
Thanks for that; appreciated.

Nowt wrong with Powercolor?

If its a brand u never used before fair enough I suppose, lots of people were asking about ZOTAC and PNY cards last year.

Really? I've never noticed powercolor being seen as an 'elcheapo' brand.

I suppose the lower price of their cards may explain that though :o :p

I've never heard bad about powercolor myself, I have had a powercolor 3870X2, which just happened to break after 2 months :o

It's not gonna put me off them though, I'm looking to get 2 of those powercolor 4850s if they're in stock tomorrow, if not I'll get 2 sapphires, or one sapphire and one HIS. Yes, I want that gimmicky screwdriverlighthingymajig :( :D

 Oh wow, look at that, I was just on my 666th post, now I've got post 666 :o

Ah god dammit. I've been wanting a 4870, and will definitely be buying one regardless, but I've also just been pouring over some more benchmarks out of boredom and it's struck me how well they handle 1920x1200 even with AA enabled.

I'm probably going to end up plunging for a 4870 and a Dell 24" monitor at this rate.

I currently have a 20" Samsung 206BW (1680x1050 native resolution).

He he Ulfhedjinn,

Well i already got me a 24"

Ordering 4870 cards n new x48 mobo now

Can't wait, Ohh gotta get some more masterkleer and coolant too i guess

Happy Cheaper Days again at last :)

Ciao

ps: The marks on cpas, If they are like marker pen lines etc, To test caps before use they can use a "A Stand Alone Cap Tester" to ensure they're all working before the get sent off to the solder tank
