Yeah it was Billy Shiels, forgot the name of the boat thought!

Edit, forgot to say.. if anyone is ever worried about the AF issues which occured on the MkIII a while back, don't be, its a cracking body ;)

Have you had all the upgrades/fixes done on yours then?

What was the 'solution' in the end? Last i heard was firmware and mirror sub box(maybe?) upgrades. Did anything else get done?

I had the submirror replaced, and all the software updates you get with any camera. (which i've done myself)

The only major difference I noticed is that when I got the body back from Canon with the focus fix, it felt "snappier" and it didn't lose lock so easily.

When you use it with a sports lens like the 300 F2.8, the focus is terrifying, absolute instant lockon, and you need it for stuff like puffins in flight.

I've paid a fortune to go to Norway (Golden Eagles) and Canada (Snowy Owls) at the end of the year, so i'm happy that my kit is working 100%, I can't be doing with going halfway round the earth to photograph my favourite creatures whilst not being confident with my kit, or it having issues..
