tbh.... I'm sure plenty of people have when they're say 18 - tis a bit different when you're older and in a proper relationship

tbh alcohol just drops your inhibitions, it makes you more likely to cheat, but only if you want to in the first place. I've been totally steaming drunk and still had the sense to push a girl off me coz I was in a relationship.

Never ever cheated on anyone, however i was the other half in an affair at one stage.

Not something i went out to acheive, but things happen. If you've been there, you'll understand.

i've done it before, i'd probably do it again. i have even less problem with helping someone else do it, it's their moral call not mine (note that this doesnt apply to mate's birds etc)

i'm not a very nice guy, but how many people have female friends they admire from afar and dont like the fact a "not very nice guy" is knocking them off?

You sound like a neat guy, have an alpha biscuit.

I've never cheated; and I never would, either. If you're not in love enough with your partner that you feel the need--under the influence of alcohol, or not--to cheat, then you're not in love enough to be in a committed relationship so it should be ended.

I've parked my car in a different garage a few times when I was younger, most notably at Uni. I then had a few ladies do similar to me. As someone previously said, not so great.

I look back at a younger, more stupid me sometimes and wonder what I was doing at the time. It seemed to make sense but now it just seems ridiculous.

Married for a few years now, incredibly happy and now know exactly where to park my car :)

I have, and I'd never do it again, I broke up with my partner after wards as I felt so guilty and was a wreck for a couple of months

So would never do it again

Pretty sure I've been cheated on too

Overwhelming amount of people replying yes. Sad really, thought this place was meant to be civilised?

most of the people replying yes are probably not in 'real' relationships (or were when it happened).
as for civilised, if these figures are real then i would bet they are lower than the national figure.

Completely viable excuse imo. If you've ever gotten so drunk you haven't got a clue what you did, you'll empathise. Tis why I don't silly-drink when I'm not with my girl.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that point, In my opinion alcohol merely exaggerates already deep down inhibitions as already mentioned. If you didnt want to cheat when you're sober, you wont when you're drunk.

I was with my ex (the one i cheated on) for 5 years when it happened

**** happens, i was going to say heat of the moment but it wasn't, i banged her for about 8 months

I have been with my current gf for 4 years and wouldn't dream of cheating on her

Some people just aren't meant to be together some are

Out of curiosity as to why people cheat, why didn't you just leave you're girlfriend of 5 years if you weren't happy, instead of going behind her back for 8 months?

I was thinking of that too. An internet sample isn't very good considering the way it's treated. You bet they are lower??!! As in more people saying "yes" at a national figure. Oh my then. Even if you meant a lower national figure it's still pretty pathetic.
