Sigma 70-300mm 70-300 f4-5.6 APO DG Macro For Canon +UV

Just have to wait for it to come in the post :D rah

Anyone else have this lens?

I have the non APO version, many people have some qualms about the non-APO version. I've been using mine, it has its limitations from 200mm and beyond (not as sharp and apparently CA, but I've yet noticed such a problem), for the price I've paid, it's a well priced tele-zoom.

I'm sure you'll have much fun with that too :)

got the APO version.

i find it okay but i have sharper lenses and its starting to show its softness so i am soon to be replacing it!

Cost me £123 brand new and it comes with a UV filter also and as i have the basic kit lens that came with the 400D i think its a worthy investment as i want to capture wildlife

I've had one for quite a while, got it on holiday in Germany. Its a pretty good lens and I've used it at airshows etc.
Then I got a 100-400L...:D

I have one in a Pentax mount, and it's pretty good once you know its limitations! Nice lens for Macro work too, you don't need to be too close to your subject.

Here's a couple I've taken with mine.

what do you mean by limitations? I've just bought one myself so any tips in taking shots with it are greatfully received :)

Well, It's not the sharpest lens at 300mm, but anything below that is good.

Also, it's f5.6 at 300mm, so that limits your shutter speeds affecting capture in low light and/or with fast moving objects, ie birds!

In good light though, it's a very capable lens for the money IMO, with good control of CA and Purple Fringing.

The Macro function is very good, but you'll need a tripod for really sharp images, same as other Macro photography though I guess.

Hi all,

can anyone spec me a good place to get camera bags?

But the place might sell what OcUK sells too.

Anyway, I personally don't use a specific camera bag as such. Got a cheapo "Canon" branded bag off eBay that can hold my camera body+50mm lens, my 18-55mm and 70-300mm are just lens capped and locked on Autofocus, then kept in my usual rug sack with my camera.
