Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6 Intel X48/Asus Rampage Formula Intel X48. Anyone got one ?

Thinking of upgrading already got a Gigabyte board, but only one PCI lane no good for xfire.

Which should I go for ?

Asus Rampage Formula Intel X48

or

Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6 Intel X48

I have the Gigabyte and it's OK. It's slightly faster out of the box than the DFI and slightly slower than the J&W X48 board. If you're just after decent Crossfire performance the various X38 boards are very reasonablly priced at the moment.

I haven't tried the Rampage, as the last ASUS board I bought from OcUK took forever to come back, so I've ditched them, plus they seem to have lots of driver issues, and you can never download anything from their awfully slow website. But I hear it's a decent motherboard though.

I have a GA-X48-DQ6 here and had no probs whatsoever with it.

It clocks my Q6600 to 3.2GHz with ease and I am sure it will go further (in fact I know it will)

Its still only on its second BIOS update, currently on 7b beta.

another plus is that you already have a gigabyte board so the BIOS will be very familiar to you

but

I am sure the Asus board is nice too

Thanks guys for the input. Looks like I will go for the DQ6, like JaseUK says, I'm familiar with the BIOS and had no probs with the gigabyte board.
