Amy Winehouse @ Glastonbury on BBC now


That her doing a live show before the drugs, seriously, last night she was awful, nearly all clips show her stubbling around mumbling and genereally half concious. Anyone claiming thats always been her act is Silly. :) Just compare glastonbury to that.

Having met you, I know that you're the sort of person who has an aversion to drugs, which is fair enough, but your aversion doesn't give you a heightened sense of morality which you clearly think you have.

Least you could hear the mumbles , Jay Z all I could hear was oki oki OI, the rest was just his side kicks "singing" :confused::(

Either way winehouse has done far to many class A's. theres a utube link of her snorting something live on stage .........
 
If you ask me, Amy Winehouse is just a Janice Joplin wannabe, probably just trying to emulate her , no doubt will end up the same way too. (though she will never be as good as Joplin imo)

What? Did you watch a different performance to the rest of us? No one is jumping on the bandwagon here!

She should more self restraint than to punch someone in the crowd even if he spat in her face while she's being watched live by millions of people. All people of her profile should do. In fact I don't even think he took anything from her from watching it again.

The cables had nothing to do with her falling over, she was off her face as usual.

Yes she did look better but a bit of fake tan cannot make up for a frankly shocking performance (both in her singing and her attitude) from someone who is basically at deaths door. If she carries on like this I'd be surprised if she was still alive to do Glasto next year. Especially if blake gets sent down?
 
I really like Amy Winehouse as an artist - I think she has some great talent, as do all of her band. :)

As a person and a role-model however I feel she is very much deteriorated and wasting away- It seems like a 'waste of talent' as so many people have already mentioned, yet I hope she will find her way back to a more balanced path.

As with artists like Eric Clapton, Mick Jagger, John Frusciante etc. It can be shown that people can indeed hit rock bottom yet come back to musical highs :)

people tend to forget this - she's being treated like the first artist to ever have a drug problem. If some of the holier-than-thou brigade had seen Frusciante in some of his worse throes, you'd think Amy Winehouse's performance was that of cherubim and seraphim.
 
That was awful last night, like watching a drug addict trying to sing, which is exactly what it was.
How people can clap and cheer that is beyond me.
If i was in her backing group i'd think about looking for work elsewhere, as there's a distinct possibility there won't be a singer to back in a years time !!

Definately, I would say all of the following had worse problems than Winehouse, (although, the severity of some highlighted by their deaths :() Slash, Sid Vicious, Dave Mustaine, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eric Clapton, Pete Townshend, Trent Reznor, Layne Staley, John Frusciante, Kurt Cobain, Dave Matthews, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Page, Charlie Parker, Jim Morrison, Ray Charles, Billie Holiday, Phil Lynott, Miles Davis, Mike McCready, Phil Anselmo, James Brown.

maybe so, but how many of them got to air a live gig to the nation on the bbc?
the drink and drugs may be par for the course in her line of work, but the way she's promoted, it's almost like we're supposed to think it's a good thing. those artists you listed were no way as visible in their dark days.

personally, i couldn't care less what state she gets herself into. if she can't control herself, and her managers / promoters can't do what's best for her, then that's life.

i do think it's a bit off over glamorising her antics.
 
compared to pre-drugs, her singing has no energy, her timing is way off, and she can't stand up straight.

You be blind and deaf to think different.
