Hey folks,

This is silly, but, after playing on my girlfriends Nintendo Wii, I am obsessed with Mario Kart ( I bought that game for her, and it is literally amazing)

I am addicted, we are often playing split screen 2 player online.

Anyways,

I was going to buy a Wii, and it seems I might as well get the Super Smash Bros bundle, I don't know much about that game, but it is meant to be brilliant (looks to me like Street fighter 2 with different characters?) and buy Mario Kart also.

Is it justified to buy a console for essentially 1 or 2 games!

I have an XBOX360 elite, but usually just play Burnout Paradise, GTA4 or Pro Evo 2008 on it...

Also, IF I did go for a Nintendo Wii ( :D at sentence) is there any way of playing online with my girlfriend, with her at her house, and me here, but also playing vs other players worldwide at the same time? In otherwords, any way to guarantee we will be in the same game on a multiplayer?

Mario Galaxy is brilliant as well, as is metroid, and resident evil if you haven't played it infact there is plenty of other games im sure you'll be dying to try once you get your teeth sunk into some proper wii action

Plus the insane number of fantastic GameCube games.

None of those interest you?

You can play online with your GF for free on mario kart and smash bros on the Wii, not sure about party play though.

That is some list Kreeee, what are you trying to do? Convince me? It's working lol!

I had a look at the manual last night for Mario Kart, it says you can 'join' a friend who is currently playing online, which sounds like what I want to do, so instead of just racing 1v1, if me or her is playing say, 10 or so players online, the other one can log on, click on the friend list and 'join' that game.
Brilliant! :)

The XBOX360 is a bit different to the wii, but I have a feeling I might end up selling it if the Wii is good, as I don't use the 360 much, and if Pro Evo is better on the Wii, then that is the way forward! :D

We got a Wii this morning (with GH3 and a Wii Fit, haha!), can't stop playing the tennis game!

Great fun and really impressed with how you interact with it....boxing's a good laugh too

Mario Kart is obsessive, probably one of my most played games! 2-player online is so much fun! Get Mario Galaxy & Paper Mario as well, both top titles.

It's not very often I agree with you (Being a Sony fangirl and all :p ;)) but you occasionally have good taste in games :)

the only thing i hate about mario kart is the blue shell it's pointless you only get it if you're in the bottom half, and it doesn't help you at all

if you're first, then the person in 2nd get's an easy win, lol

I got it in second before...

I've always thought the blue shell would be much better if it hit everyone along the way to the leader.

The Wii is cheap but it's not worth the purchase. The majority of Kree's list are on other platforms anyway, and the exclusives aren't even that great, save for Galaxy. You'll play it for a few days then totally forget about it, just like practically anyone else who bought one.

For such a borderline trolling post, it's pretty sad it's true I'm afraid.

yeah, unless i'm mistake (probably am) it used to do that in Mario Kart DD, or might have been something in Crash Team Racing

Same reasons why the PS3 isn't worth it then except it's also hugely expensive too?

Well, I suppose the honest answer would be that no, I didn't have a use for the PS3 for well over a year save for one or two movies and some PS2 games. It was only very recently it was getting a ton of playtime and a stream of solid games. It eventually improved, but the Wii never did, substantially. The online service is poor, Nintendo of Europe is not getting its act together, Freeloader is constantly getting fired upon, storage issues were getting ridiculously bad, VC European games are poor 50hz PAL quality with borders, the list goes on and on.

I got the PS3 and the Wii at pretty much the same time. Except that just as the PS3 was hotting up, the Wii was going in the opposite direction and got sold.
