QUOTED :

" Self proclaimed master of coolers, Cooler Master has now introduced a little something that should make single-, dual- and quad-core CPUs purr like kittens. The already-showcased V8 CPU cooler has now been given a proper welcoming with its maker describing it as a monster that "has enough horsepower to perform its duties with any high-performance CPU." Weighting in 865 grams, the V8 consists of a copper base-equipped heatsink made up of four aluminum fan arrays connected via eight 6mm heatpipes, and a 120mm fan that stands right at the middle of the whole contraption. The fan provided by Cooler Master comes backed by a speed controller and it features a rifle bearing, working speeds between 800 and 1800 RPM, and a relatively low life span of about 40,000 hours.

Measuring 120 x 128 x 161.1mm, the V8 has support for Intel LGA775 and AMD 940/AM2/AM2+ sockets. This new CPU cooler is set to hit the stores very soon. It's price tag is still un in the air. "

:)

Coolermaster haven't really delivered with their last few coolers, I hope this one finally topples the Ultra 120 Extreme.

I know. :(

I would pop a higher speed Fan in there, and control with the Mobo+Speedfan.

I don't think it takes a 35mm deep fan (better pressure to get though them double fins).

only concern would be that you are going to need a very powerful fan to push air through that!

Yeah good point. It's all very well having a potentially great cooler, but the majority of overclockers have got used to the idea of having a silent yet well-performing Thermalright heatsink.

The Noctua NF-P12 should do a pretty good job of pushing air through it, it supposedly does very well as a CPU cooler with the high static pressure

Its better than their old fan but its not high end, no such thing as Silent+High end Air Cooling.

You use a very fast powerful fan to let you Extreme OC and you slow it down using some method of control when your not needing full power.

In a ideal set up a 35mm deep fan is good as its high pressure and suited to CPU Heatsinks.

I have the Noctua heatsink and do not use its near Silent Fan (not newer version).

I use another fans that's a bit loud (not like a Tornado or Delta) but it runs at 50% most of the time controlled by Speedfan and I cant hear it over anything else.
