I'm due to start a new job next Monday and don't currently have a Passport so I can use my Birth Certificate but I need a letter from the Home Office which confirms I can work in the UK to go with this. Where can I get a letter which confirms my elegibility to work in the UK?

Can anyone help?

Much appreciated.

I'm 100% english. There is a few different combinations on the letter I recieved with my contract.

I think it says I can use a Passport or use my birth certificate with something which proves I can work in the UK.

Or have I got it wrong??

Trying to find the letter.

You don't need a letter as you are English. You just need Id to prove you are English.

The letter is for none uk nationals

They are probably being meticulous as they can now be spanked rather hard should they hire an illegal worker under the new rules.
