Hey, just got back from a cycling weekend down in New Forest in a place called Calshot.

Went down for a track session on the velodrome with my Dad and his local cycling club.

We got there Saturday lunch time, went out for a 30mile warm up ride at about 1.15 and back to the Velodrome for 3.30pm.

Track cycling was great, although probably out of the 9 of us riding, only 3 had done it before. Soon picked it up, took a moment or two to get used to the fact you've got no brakes!

And you cant stop pedaling!

Had a few scary moments stuck behind people on the corners who were going way too slow... Was expecting to drop off the corner they're so steep (45 degrees).

Managed a lap time of 12.5 seconds - not bad considering I was pretty nervous!

We got to the last 5mins at the end and I took a few photos....

When all of a sudden!!

*CRAAAAASSSSHHHHHHHHH* and the sound of bodies sliding across the wooden floor :(

Turns out he dislocated his shoulder.

Next day (sunday) we were out again for a 55 mile ride through New Forest!

Think I'm gnna sleep well tonight :)

Nice, been to calshot a few times at the velodrome and it is tough at first but easy once you get used to it to start speeding round at a fair rate of knots.
