New mouse time: Razer DeathAdder Blue or Logitech MX Revolution?

Right at the moment I have a Logitech MX 1000 which I've had for about 3-4 years now. It is getting old and will occasionally double click when I single click and it will not let me highlight stuff now. In Word it thinks I want to move stuff down the page.

So it is now time for a new rodent device. :cool:

Part of me thinks I should stick with wireless rodentines so I'm quite liking the Logitech MX Revolution. The fact that it has a dongle separate from the charging base interests me as I can hide the charging base on the PC (next to my desk) when I don't need it and just plug the dongle into a USB port on my Dell monitor. However I do game a bit, just a teeny wittle bit, on stuff like COD4 and when I get a new PC soon (quad-core, Vista, 4GB, 4870 etc :p) I'd like to play other demanding games so I'm wondering if the Razer DeathAdder would be a good rodentine to get.

So wireless means no wires (duh! :D) and the wired is cheaper and better for gaming. So which one do I get? :)
 
I think that they're both good. People often overlook the fact that a mouse should most importantly be comfortable for the user. If it's not - then wired or wireless won't make a difference in how your interacting with your machine, you won't be using it happily.

Also if you've had the MX1000, then if you are used to the no. of buttons and shape etc., I'd be tempted to get the mouse which is the most similar to what you already have.

I get the impression that wireless mice are now ok for gaming, I think only the most serious of players still refuse to lose the cables.
 
wired for fps gaming. i have mx revolution and its amazing for desktop use but not the right shape for gaming :(

I'm agreeing with you tbh. :) MX Revolution about a tenner more but that would be nice I'm thinking.

Bear with me here. :p

Could I get both, not at the same time mind, and have both plugged in say and use the MX Revolution for desktop stuff and then switch to the Razer for gaming? :D

yup they'll work simultaneously

the free spin mode on the mx revolution scroll wheel is orgasmic for browsing forums/net all day. one of the niftiest additions to the mouse since they went optical imho.

The wheel literally has like no moment of inertia, it keep spinning forever so you can scroll insanely fast and stop like instantly

Have a play with the mouse in a shop or something
 
You certainly can have two mice plugged in, I went through a period where I had a G7 and Intellimouse v3 both connected to swap between. I'd guess wireless is fine unless you are a particularly hardcore gamer - I'm not but I have played quite a few FPSes without noticing any lag.

I'd definitely agree with the idea of trying them out first, it doesn't matter how comfortable a mouse is for anyone else since it is you that will be using it.

I've had one of these MX Revs for a month or two now and I thought I'd broken the thing when it first started freewheeling. :o

It's certainly a nice mouse and I'm very glad that I'm finally shot of another set of wires. My old wired mouse was really starting to bug me. My only real concern is that it does seem to burn its charge quicker than I'd hoped.
