Wimbledon 2008 **Spoilers**

Dont be daft, how can I be wrong?

If its my opinion and prediction that Nadal will win, how is that right or wrong??

It cant be right or wrong until the match is played and either Murray or Nadal wins.

There's a big difference between saying you "think" and you "know" Nadal is going to win, which was part of my orginal point about the amount of negativity towards British sport.

If you "think" Nadal will win I have no problem with that :), as I said he's a clear favourite going into the tie.

Anyway - lets drop it now.

Good game and top come back.

I still think that A. Murray is a bit of ****. I dont know what it is, but I just dont like the guy.

Now for his reward, he gets to play Nadal.

Why do you think he's a bit of a **** ? He's got more charisma than Henman ever did, granted he's an ugly little scrote :D

Ok...then I think , based on likelihood, that Nadal will win. There. Crikey, didnt realise this place was so rife with pedantics and semantics.

That was a pretty phenominal comeback by Murray. From the 4th set on he was pretty unplayable tbh. As long as he recovers well and gets his service going early, he really will cause Nadal a lot of problems because his ability to get the ungettable is right up there with the spaniard's.

Interestingly, if he gets past Nadal he will be favourite to reach the final.

LOL

Henman wasnt likable and wasnt dislikable. Murray on the other hand gives a vibe off, that he is a bit of bad boy. When McEnroe did the bad boy thing, he was the World No.1, but A.Murray isnt that good.

I think its the hair..its difficult to pull off the bad boy thing when you have hair like Jimmy Krankie.

Now if he was to get a decent head shave and then do that roaring...that might work pretty well :)

Maybe he is and maybe he isn't but remember he is still only 21 and playing in an era with some outstanding talents, Federer being arguably one of the greatest ever and Nadal is certainly no slouch either. Djokovich is pretty handy with a racquet, Roddick isn't too bad either etc etc.

Far from it. Theres less serve and volley though, only ancic does it really.

Quarters have Federer, Nadal, Murray, Ancic, Schuetler, Clement, Lopez, Safin.

So if it wasnt for Murrays tough Draw, then he would have a brilliant chance of atleast the Semi's.

Personally think Murray did brilliantly to win that match

Admitttedly his serve was awful for the 1st two sets (well most of the 3rd as well) but the commentary got it spot in when they described him as granite at the end of that 3rd set, just not allowing "Gasket" (as McEnroe called him once :D) to win the crucial point.

He has needed to be more harsh than those in previous years simply because of Federer and Nadal and even those who are actually his age who are equally good - as everyone can probably agree Federer especially is in a league of his own, so you have to be more vocal/arrogant to even be considered to play a half decent game against him (which Murray has already done...and I think won)

Not watched much this year, but is the men's the usual 'ace, ace, ace, oh look, i've won'?

No, not at all. Most of the games I've seen have been fairly entertaining. The only negative I would add is that in general I've not enjoyed the women's games quite as much (aside from the eye candy ;)). The quality of the men's game is much better at the moment.

Last few times Murray played Nadal in the past he gave him a tough fight on hard courts and that was before he started the fitness regime. He has also beaten Federer in the past so he is capable of raising his game to beat the top players and he needs to do that again Wednesday to stand a chance of winning. Whatever happens Wednesday it will be a cracking game to watch :)

Murray is one of only two active players who have a winning record against Federer (the other of course being Nadal), so he's shown he can beat the very best. He's taken Nadal to 5 sets before in previous matches, so anyone saying Nadal will easily win it is being very pessimistic (or optimistic, take your pick). Murray has the tools to give anyone a tough game, especially now his serve is approaching 140MPH coupled with his natural speed and athleticism. If he had more power like Nadal does he'd easily be one of the top 5 in the world, and it's an area in which he's improving. Given Murray and Nadals ability to hit some impossible looking shots, it should be a very entertaining match.
