It'll be me and my gf, and two other friends (one boy and one girl, they're a couple too). So that's 2 boys, 2 girls.
We're looking to travel mid Sept. Will the weather still be warm by then?
We're looking to go for about 5 - 7 nights.
Must be cheap, we're students!

I was looking at Creete and Malia (Malia is in Creete right?)

Edit: Will it be cheap because we're avoiding the holiday season?

I went to Crete last September for a week. Weather was about 25' - 30'C so nice and warm, so Greece is an ideal choice.

What are you after - clubbing / nights out, beach time, diving, culture, nice food?

Food + drink was around £5 - £7, but we got lots of free drinks from the bar owners because they wanted to fill up their bars by making it look busy.

(We stayed in Chania to the west of Haraklion, which was a bit quiet at nights. Malia probably offers more, but might be very touristy and overdeveloped - I can't comment though).

I would also look at Corfu.

Depends on what you want out of your holiday:

- Party?: Mykonos, all the resorts mentioned here (Malia, Chania, etc.)
- Scenery?: Santorini /close thread
- Beach holiday: pretty much any island :p I really liked the beaches on Paros and on Kws/Kos though
- Quiet/picturuesque holiday: Kastelorizon (take your "Greek for dummies" book with you :) ), Spetses, Skyros, Skopellos, Skiathos

Most islands that don't have an airport, you will have to fly to Athens and then take a boat from Pireas. Plenty of travel agents just by the train station, I recommend taking Subway Line 3 (blue) from the airport to the city centre, then switch to Line 1 (red) and go down to Pireas, when you come out of the train station walk towards the left - plenty of travel agents.

Mid September there should be places available at short notice.

It will definitely be warm :)

Have fun, behave, enjoy :)
