New Kaspersky 2009 out

Glad that the main high st stores are giving Norton the boot and are putting this in its place with new systems.

Is it any less bloated (just the av) as I removed it as it was slowing my system down on start up in vista 64bit. Can't really say it was any better than avg which I'm using now when it comes to detection rate - hardly any but most of thats due to being 64bit

For anyone who took up Barclay's on the offer of 3 free copies of Kaspersky 2008 you may be please to know your key will work for the 2009 version too.

As a combined package, firwall(stealth) and anti-virus it cant be beaten. highest detection rate of any av and faster over time its not continuously scanning same files over and over unless checksums change. esat just doesnt seem to detect anything and lets all sorts thorough (only used trial versions mind) I make use of nocd cracks for baught games so I do see the odd nasty causing a popup request ;)

tbh ESET doesn't let anything though mate. all the reviews I've seen have shown it to have equal or better detection rate with Kaspersky.

been using this for the last month, yest ended up going back to ver 7,
was getting bsod a lot, everytime vista found that 2009 version was causing it.

Just upgraded to 2009 on 5 PC's. Not a huge fan of the new look but cant complain about the memory usage.

Each machine has 2 processes related to the AV using 4-4.2MB total with all the bells and whistles on.
