Thought I'd do a mini update on my progress as a gym n00b.

So far everything is going well. After spending the first Month learning the routines and correct for I've increase all my weights. I'm perticually pleased with my Bench press (30KGs to 70KGs) , Pectoral Fly (40KGs to 70KGs) and Seated Row (40KGs to 65KGs). I'm seeing small improvements in my physique, mainly around my Triceps. While my muscles havent really grown they've become a lot firmer. My diet is OK but more healthy than bulk focused. I'll be changing this soon as I'd like to start a decent bulk.

My warmup has always been 10 minutes on the running machine. At first it was a real struggle but now I can easliy do 10 minutes at 10KPH and get off without feeling tired. I'm not going to increase this for the time being as its just a warm up.

I'll be moving away from the machines soon so I can start using more free weights. Machines are great to start with bu its time to move on.

My weight has stayed quite constant. I'm around 90Kgs with a starting bodyfat of 20%, I'm now down to 17% but weigh the same.

I need to work on my Abs more!

If you've made it this far. Thanks for reading :)

Well done - seems to be making good progress! I started gym again about a month ago after a two year lay off. Just want to get fit really as weights just kill me - I'm a wee skinny runt so haven't got any strength to do weights!

You will find that free weights require a lot more form then the machines so you may have to brop the weight down abit but dont be put off and go back to the machines. :)

Well done :)
I'm just using machines too as I don't have the confidence to move onto free weights and my gf who goes with me isn't strong enough to spot for me lol

Mate, I'm the same physique, don't laugh but I'm about 55kg and 1.70m, so yeah very skinny. I've started going to the gym recently and even though it's only been a week or two I'm actually feeling stronger. I'm not sure if I am actually stronger or if it's in my mind but either way it's improved my confidence and desire to continue which can only be a good thing :)

mate iv just started back to the gym, go 3 times a week for the last two months. my plan was too loss weight i was 14st 2 but now 13.9 after 2 months. its not a massive weight loss by any means but my stomach has went down a lot its almost level with the chest. i think my main prolem is cans of stella at the weekend lol. i loos weight during the week and then its back again at the weekend (just wish i didnt like it so much). i was always told muscle weighs more than fat so its no loss if your toned even if ** the same weight
