you were all up at 430 waiting for... this?

its a bit of a dissapointment - and i had braced myself for the worst

lets just hope that it is just the foundations of what is to come



oh and if anybody is wondering about the servers coping
download was very quick at 8am this morning

At present it is, others will be updates to include them in time. I really struggled with SSHD until i realized that one of the most important things to do is (if possible) don't move too much, and just defend yourself rather than going on the offensive. Obviously if some alien ships land that chase you, you then need to break off and run, that's when things typically go wrong for me.

I say all this, but i can only get to the second from last planet, that damn boss on level 2 ALWAYS kills me a couple of times which cripples me for the later levels.

I've got 5 Bronzes and 1 Silver now \o/

Burnout Paradise has their patch including trophies certified by SCEE, they are waiting on SCEA giving it the go ahead then it will be released.

Yet you came into a thread about the 2.40 firmware, and i dare say you knew what was available in the 2.4 firmware.

So by that reasoning, you only came in to troll then?

It's a forum, I can give my opinion and this is a discussion thread.

*****, maybe it would be trolling if I was doing it for no reason, but no I own a Playstation 3 and as such I'm entitled to give my opinion on a public forum.

You can only use that excuse for so long before it becomes tiresome. You are trolling this thread (like you do). You didn't offer an opinion, you offered a sarcastic comment. Maybe if you want to discuss why Sony releasing an update which offers features 99% of the PS3 owners wanted is a bad thing, then knock yourself out.
Otherwise, stop trolling. I honestly wonder how you get away with trolling the way you do in here.

I would go as far as to say that the majority of SSHD players will never achieve both of the golds, infact i doubt they'll achieve any (i consider myself above average, yet the golds look very difficult, some of the silvers are just insane).

One example would be a SILVER trophy:

Survive 7 mins in endless without dying.

7 mins in endless without a single death? That's madness, i'm in the top 8000 in the world which isn't terrible and my OVERALL time is 7:30, which makes my time per life about... 3 mins?
 
Apparantly you can't send cross game invites with the in game XMB but as long as you can read and send messages then I'm happy :D

Just played SSHD for the first time in months and completed Lave on my first try - weird how sometimes how after taking a break you can come back to play better!

I loaded PAIN and there was an update for it - anyone know if this is for trophies too? I probably wont get any trophies in PAIN as I have never quite figured out what you actually need to do to progress!!!

I don't understand how you can be disappointed :confused: We were given all the details about 2.4 before its release... so you wouldn't be able to expect anything more or less.

Also, anyone care to explain why no games support custom user tracks? That was on my wishlist :(

Yeah, i am not a fan of cross game invites and find they tend not to work anyway. By the time you get the disc, whack it in, load it up, the game you have been invited too has moved on/got full etc.

Just being able to get my messages is fine for me. :)

IIRC you can bring up the xmb and just play music that is on your PS3. It is the same as the 360.
I always thought the 360 calling it custom soundtracks was cheeky (yes same will hold for Sony) as the xbox has proper custom soundtracks you controlled in game (a la PGR2), the 360 and PS3 don't.

I think they need to be updated (again) to support this? Super Stardust for example supports custom soundtracks but you still have to use the 'old' ingame custom soundtrack screen to enable it like before, rather than just choosing your music through the Ingame XMB.
