*****The Official PS3 2.40 Firmware Discussion Thread*****

You can only use that excuse for so long before it becomes tiresome. You are trolling this thread (like you do). You didn't offer an opinion, you offered a sarcastic comment. Maybe if you want to discuss why Sony releasing an update which offers features 99% of the PS3 owners wanted is a bad thing, then knock yourself out.
Otherwise, stop trolling. I honestly wonder how you get away with trolling the way you do in here.

Whatever you say babes.

jihad, stop trying to stir the pot. You know your first comment in this thread would make other users question it and then this would happen.

happy with the update though obviously basic at the moment, hopefully more games will be patched for trophies soon - wonder why locoroco wasn't patched (and announced) as this was one of the games shown off in the home tour at gdc (07?) - edit: link.

I really like trophies as they give me objectives as well as encourage me to play the game (sshd so far) differently :)

Free update, with more to come, can't complain one bit :)

I don't understand how you can be disappointed  We were given all the details about 2.4 before its release... so you wouldn't be able to expect anything more or less.

Also, anyone care to explain why no games support custom user tracks? That was on my wishlist :(

sorry - wasnt meaning to sound harsh

what i meant was that it delivers the goods in the way that it does what it said it would

but there just seems to be too many restrictions to make it feel somewhat incomplete

for instance

1. in game custom soundtracks - Great but its not supported for all games and for media streaming whilst gaming

2. xmb in game - great but dosent allow massive functionality

3 trophy system - fantastic addition, but its not retroactive so i cant see what i would have got from my current progress since ive had the system

4. the clock - that pretty useful i have to admit

I wasn't stirring, I was posting an opinion on a forum.

Why is everything said about the Playstation 3 (that you lot call negative) trolling or stirring?

this is probably something i overlooked as i updated had 20 minutes with it then came to work

question.
i know about custom soundtracks being game specific

but can you go to xmb in game and select your local files or content streaming device in order to play music over the top of games?

Its not, its just when someone does say something negative without giving a explantion just leads to arguements.

STOP ARGUING

if you call the guy a troll then rise to his replies then you are simply giving him more ammo

its not constructive or interesting to read through a thread looking for info and feedback with every post interspersed with 'troll' this and 'troll' that

this is a discussion about a system update

i suggest you exchange numbers via email trust and organise meeting up to apologise and give eachother a nice backrub

think about it

It looks like trophies in Burnout Paradise will be retroactive (and is the reason they locked the game save to the user).

http://criteriongames.com/article.php?artID=310

thats a great find

i think all the developers should learn something from this

although i still feel that it is mainly sony who should be responsible for updating the existing catalogue
--------------

anybody found any news on weather or not the use of save files distributed over the net will affect the trophy system?

im only asking as i think many users would exploit it to get a higher score etc [then the trophy system becomes as meaningless as the xbl gamerscores altered using gamesaves]

i guess they could always lock it to your id like criterion have done?

Loving playing my own music in-game, was the sole reason I brought most racing games for the 360.

so can you do this over xmb?

im not bothered about in game custom soundtracks

just want to play my own music
[prefferably stream from my pc] whilst playing skate/burnout

From what i can gather, that is why the trophy system is not retroactive. That way it stops people using game saves etc.
It seems like they will be retroactive, only if the save file is linked to your PSN id like Burnouts is.
