Are ATi cutting the mustard with the 4870?

Hi all, just read a few threads regarding sub £200 cards and have seen a lot a recommendations for the 4870. I've been out of the loop for about 6 months (for this price bracket anyway) as I bought a GTS 320 last november (about 2 wks before the GT came out...gutted). My card still manages all the top games comfortably, would you say the 4870 is a good card if I was to buy?

P.s. Does the GT 512 offer good bang for buck as its near the £100 mark?

If you can run everything you want at the settings you want
why buy another card? (unless ofc you are a enthusiast wand just want new kit to play with)

Short answer, it is a lot faster at higher resolutions, and moreso with AA applied

Well, if you've read the threads, then you should already know it's a great card and yeah you'll benefit bigtime. It'll be money well spent.

Cheers Pug ;)

To be honest, unless your struggling to run the games I would not change.
The 8800GT are becoming good price, but the 4850 thats on special this week would be a better buy

Try reading one of the million 4870 threads on the forum that have been posted in the last week? :p

Anyway the 4850 is a better guy than the 8800 GTS, so get that if you're on a budget.
