How good a a 360 at upscaling DVD movies to 720p through HDMI?

Just looks like a normal DVD to me, played on my Samsung full HD upscaler and I can see a difference, tbh I can’t see any difference on the 360 to a standard dvd player

I see a huge difference compared to a standard DVD player.

It's pretty good but a decent upscaling DVD player or the PS3 will do a better job.

As above the PS3 is far better at tis kind of job, although the 360 does a half decent job.

I can’t say I notice any difference

I will have to try a DVD now out of curiosity being a while since I played a DVD on the thing due to the noise it makes

I was told the 360 upscales better if you watch DVDs through an external HD-DVD drive. I'll have to try it on mine sometime.

Its actually not that bad, about as good as sub £100 standalone player, but you do have to put up with din the thing makes. I didn't notice the slightest bit of difference between the 360 upscaling a dvd and hd dvd addon unit doing it.

The PS3 does a far more impressive job at upscaling DVDs, so good in fact I ditched my £250 standalone Pioneer player, it also has the benifit of being silent.

As above, just dandy, looks like a normal DVD player, you don't get the HD effect as much as you do with a PS3.

yeah it does seem to get the fans going when upscaling dvd's for some reason
but its not that bad

My 360 makes less noise when watching movies. I think it's because it's less taxing than a game on the gpu.

PS3 upscales better than my ep30 which upscales better than my xbox360 although some older dvds (prolly transferred from a poor source) look crap on all 3
