CityLink Efficiency...

I order 2 packages a week , every week worth £500+ from a competitor and they use citylink next day delivery and in 4months they have never been late or lost a item of mine.

I love them :)

Their local depot is 2 miles away so if I am out I can easily pick packages up.

I'm also between the depot and london, so I find i'm always delivered to first thing on their way into town :)

This mirrors my experience. In fact since 1991 when I first started building and reparing I have never had a problem with deliveries by citylink.

Last time i missed them they left a card saying they would return for a second attempt the following day.

So i stayed in ALL day... phoned up the office and they said "driver must have ticked the wrong box, its been left at the depot for your collection"

Thanks

Overclockers should have other options, I’d use Royal Mail due to the fact that if I’m not in I've got a head office round the corner, I can honestly say CityLink have put me off ordering some items due to the hastle i have if i'm not in.

+1.

Haven't ordered anything for quite a while, because every order I've previously made has been mucked up by CityLink.

Should have been 2 packages...only 1 package on board...the 2nd package was on another van!!

I completely fail to understand why, with 2 packages coming to the same name and address, CityLink put the packages on different vans...

Still waiting of course...dare not miss the "£$£$%^&&*^% thing..

This is good service from CityLink, not bad service.

If you bulk out one round, have a breakdown, or the driver is not going to be able to do all his drops then the con may well be split loaded across 2 drivers. Sometimes intentionally, sometimes accidental, it doesn't really matter.

The alternative is that it sits on the dock at the depot and goes out tomorrow.

Have to disagree...you have 2x the possibility that one of the packages will not make it (for whatever reason)...also I needed ALL the stuff that was in the packages...

Companys a total farce to be honest, First day no attempt at delivery, claims it was carded. 2nd day Customer service constantly claiming they cant contact the depot and they havent even tried, you get to the depot and there like um the phone hasnt rang all morning for them to keep it here.
Then oh you will have to wait your parcels at the back of the van! WTF I told you I was picking it up. Class A muppets.

What are the chances of the second package actually turning up today though? The way I see it is that he's paid for delivery with a date stamped against it, if they can't meet that then it's bad service.

He got both packages the same day, what's the issue? There was no service failure!

Okay, the alternative was that they left both your cons on the dock in a broken down van. Would that have been a better resolution?

I've had that before with CityLink: Had made 2 online orders, from 2 different suppliers.

CityLink van arrives at the back door, the delivery guy has Parcel 1 of Order 1.....his sheet to sign said there were 2 parcels, so he guessed it had got split up and the other would come tomorrow. :(
Literally just signing for it when the Front Door Bell goes, so say cheers to the delivery guy and shut the back door. Walk over to the front door and it's another City Link van with Parcel 2 of Order 1 & all of Order 2.

When the first delivery guy got in his van, drove round the corner to get out of the cul-de-sac and saw the second van he stopped and they both had a good laugh and rant against their company! :p

But as everyone says, some delivery companies are good in some areas but not in others. The main problem (for me living in Bath) is that if DHL/Amtrack/Royal Mail/Interlink Express mess-up (and those ones usually don't) it's a 5-10min drive into town and pick the parcel up.
But when City Link mess-up (and they usually do) it's a 45min drive to the depot over in Bristol to get the parcel.

I have never really had a prob with citylink, apart from when they always delivered around 1-2PM (kinda annoying as you had to wait all day). However since I moved they now delivered between 9-9:30am :D

Regarding the post above, why dont you phone them up and schedule another delivery? I wouldn't drive 45mins to my nearest depot (which it is about 40mins). £1.18 a litre, your having a laugh!

A guy done just that at our depot yesturday (Parcelforce), only he arrived in a Ferrari

He also refused an offer of a straight swap for my mondeo :D
