What next? Yes I'm asking for a spec me.

How did it drive, honestly, in comparison to say your WRX? Heck even the STi? I know the STi was really well modded when you bought it, but I guess you got to drive some without so many mods?

Boxster S is a nice car, but PC equipment ?

dont buy a boxster mate, s2000 or a Z mcoupe/roadster, given your last cars a boxster wouldnt satisfy

mine was at 340 bhp and 380 lbs so plenty fast enough. Handling can be much improved with lower profile rubber, arb's etc but it won't handle like as well as an sti unless yu spend a lot!

thats what i'd be doing

except once getting an Fez, id then get rid of all the STI and subaru branding and you can bet hardly anybody would be any the wiser.

I know its totally out of budget, but this is such an excellent example id be looking down the back of the couch, not eating for weeks etc.. to afford it lol :D

or put your sensible hat on ..

but still. Remove all the STI and subaru branding and i bet nobody would have a clue.

I know the guy who owns that first one, he posts regularly on the scooby forums. In fact I know the guy who owned it from new before him as well and can say it has been well cherished and looked after. Would be a great choice, only slight problem being that as it's been lowered and has the aero pack etc it doesn't look so stealthy !

Most of the cars suggested still seem well worth carjacking you for.

Don't see the point avoiding Subaru for being in fear of it happening again just to buy something that is equally just as nickable.

Either get what you really really want and hope it doesn't happen again or buy a less noticeable car like a large capacity diesel (A4, 3 series) and get it mapped.

i havnt seen any suggestions of an e39 m5? they're totally doable for £12k, plenty large enough for IT gear and do handle alright as well, and i'd imagine it'd be quicker once rolling than your scoob?

Remove the ///M5 Badge and they're completely inconspicuous too bar the quad zorsts

Sorry Jez, but I've had a go in and against an S2000 and in a straight line my WRX used to beat one (before comments are made, my WRX ran a 13.2 qtr mile so it wasn't slow), so the STi would give it a bit of a pasting. I'm sure they handle fantastic and are a great hoot, but I don't see them up there really. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Yeah you have to drive them rather than just sticking your foot down and going.

How on earth did a WRX with just a flywheel and decat do a 13.2 quarter?

My mates GT4 @ 1.1 BAR did it in high 13's and that's as quck as an STi with launch.

Personally I'd be one to not give in the the scum and just own what you want, which is clearly another Scoob! they're rather common so chances of it happening directly to you again can't be that high surely?

As an alternative there is the Integra DC5. No where near as powerful but is something special with a decent boot space. I would agree that a BMW of sorts would probably be more ideal if you don't want to attract attention to yourself.

Goes one step further that just that simple way of thinking when your family are involved though!

ill swap my 1997 Ford Fiesta for your scooob.. only once have i been chased and thats because drunk chavs are idiots. So you would be very safe in it...

What about an E39 M5?

Very fast, refined, would fit all your kit, will get a facelift model for the higher end of the budget. If you can insure one it would be hard to beat...
