Wimbledon 2008 **Spoilers**

Hehehe. You are right.

Its for the TV audience - most of whom have tuned in to see a British player play in the quarterfinals. A lot of the audience probably havent even heard of Nadal or care about who he is.

You're probably right, but how disrespectful is it to Nadal. The odd question about Murray would have been OK, but for the whole interview to be based around him was ludicrous. And it's not as though these guys haven't been asked the same questions about Murray last year, the year before, at Queens etc. Everyone who's played Murray in the past 3 years has said he'll be top 5 soon enough, they just needed Rafa to confirm it for the 473rd time.

Shows what an idiot you are rather than Andy Murray who was beaten by No 2 in the world (and beat No8) imho

Not idiotic at all you oaf - Murray has previously made some anti-English comments, and as a consequence, I revel in his demise, to a far far superior player.

If he was German you would agree with me.

Oh what the hell?!?

Why are they showing this match and not the other one?

Im going to have to go upstairs now to watch and there in no PC upstairs. :(

Nadal was just far too good yesterday. Murray still has time on his side to improve though and I reckon he could quite happily become a regular fixture in the top 5. Don't forget, Henman spent a large chunk of his career in the top 10 and spent some time in the top5 and he was apparently rubbish. While it's clear he wasn't, Murray looks a far better prospect so should be able to uphold that top5 spot.

Good point. I never really respected Tim's achievements as a tennis player when I was one of the 'two week tennis fan' brigade. However, once I started to follow tennis properly, I realised that he really didn't deserve all the criticism he got from the public. That said, it takes some going to reach 6 grand slam semis, and lose in all 6 of them - even Rusedski reached the final of the US Open FFS!

Murray probably does have more talent than Henman at the same age - I don't know because I didn't watch tennis then. However, as Henman proved, getting to 4 in the world and winning a grand slam are 2 very different things.

The fact is he isnt - and so has Ally McCoist in the past doesnt mean I hated him as a player, far from it infact

/shakes my head

.

Not really because 9 times out of 10 you would be coming across No1 / No2 in the world at that point (or former No1/No2) so its more down to what happens on the day (like that Henman/ Goran Ivanovich wimbledon semi that was interrrupted two or three times by heavy rain, just as Henman was getting the better of GI near the end also - its completely down to luck, twist of fate (like the point Murray saved way off the court to get back into the last 16 match four days ago)

Rusedski had his mamoth serve (once classed as the fastest in the world) and thats mainly what got him to that final imo - he still did well but his apearance in the top 5 was a mere blip compared to Henman , and esp compared to what Murray should be capable of

f

Yeah but McCoist was a likeable guy. If he said something anti English, he could say it with a grin and it would get taken as a joke.

A.Murray comes over as a spoilt brat with a bad attitude. If he made an anti-English joke, it wouldnt be laughed off so easily. In light of this, he should avoid attempting to make anti-English jokes.

You will notice that in general, A.Murray, isnt really a likable person and I put this down mainly to the bad attitude that he conveys during interviews and on-court.

he'll get his chance to break feds serve sooner or later but will he take the couple of chances he will get - it's unlikely he will see anymore the way he has been serving the last few matches and also how he has started today.

it's just so hard to beat him when he serves that good, you're only chance is to hold you're own serve and try to snatch a tie-break.

safin does look more composed now and serving better.....maybe nerves? (it's been awhile for him)... the first set was a bit embarrasing tbh.

Safin had 2 chances to break serve at 2-1 and missed both then played a terrible tie-breaker ....FAIL
