Is it worth me getting 9800GTX 512mb if...

I have a 8800GTS 320mb? (the old one)

I'm looking to improve my computer a little, as I want to squeeze a little bit extra performance and effects out of it, as well as to play on Crysis. The system already has a 6300 clocked at 2.5ghz, 4x512mb of DDR-2 1000mhz, and a 485 watt Enermax Noisetaker power supply.

The graphics card I'm looking at is this.

Would I see any signifant performance gains that is worth me spending £170 on? I game at 1680x1050.

If you spend 170 on a 9800 gtx you have got to be crazy lol a 4850 is on par with it and cheaper.http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-089-PC
 
I didn't know the 4850s were better bang for buck, I guess I need to do more research! I guess Nvidia aren't the performance/price kings anymore?
 
Knives have you not read any threads in this section lately? The 4870 kicks the crap out of the 9800 GTX, and is only a tenner more... spending that much on a 9800 GTX would be insanity. Use some knouse and read some reviews. :D

Get either a 4850 on par/better than 9800gtx or a 4870, if you like nvidia the gtx280/260 and 9800gx2 have just got a big price drop at overclockers but they 200 to 305.

The AA performance on 4850/70 is very good not that bad a hit when using AA.s, the 9800gtx is a good card but 4850 is cheaper and mostly faster.
I must be blind cannot find the thread with all the reviews in it.

Use the forums search feature, there's tons of threads with reviews and benchmarks in them.
 
Thank you very much guys, you all helped me when I chose to get a 6600GT, and again when I chose to get a 8800GTS after and once more with a 4870. :D
