Do you think were it showed the 'original' on the left that is DX9?

I wonder how it wil look under DX9?

I could never get in to the original. It just didn't seem to flow properly and was buggy as hell. Just struck me as a MMORPG without the MMO part.
 
oooh, for a minute when it first loaded up I thought that it was going to be the same video allready released but that looks great, really looking forward to this now, just wondering what its going to take to run it, wonder if they improved the performance of it over the last one.

Anyone know when its out? - edit - August 29th.

OT: anyone know where the music is from?

Enjoyed the first one, yes it takes a while to get into it...what with all the running around.

I just hated the 'last' mission...Stupidly hard, I just ended up running.

Me too, I've played the game twice, not got to the last bit on the 2nd go as I am taking my time trying to do more missions this time but when i got to the last section it was ridiculous, this time I am going to get the right kit and artifacts, havent played it in a while tho, have to get back into it.

Looking forward to this one though, although I hope my rig will play it.
 
Looks good, I played the original but I found it a bit boring, too much running around and the combat system, while realistic, was a pain in the ass imo. I only played it for about 2 or 3 hours before getting bored of it.
 
after watching that i might have to give the first one a proper go.

bought it a while back and have only played it for a few hours (which seems to be the case with a few people here :p)
 
Looks very good. I played and completed the first one, but i wasnt that impressed with the game over all. I just wanted to have a look at Chernobyl (was a huge let down!)

Will have to build a new pc for this one to be played though. My current pc struggled with the first Stalker.
 
Yeah, I was let down by the first one...I just wanted a lot more out of it...but it wasen't delivered sadly. Still enjoyed it though :)

They should have included some form of vehicle or something for transport between some of the zones...Even if it was a weird 'taxi' like option, so it just loads to the next screen at the expense of a few bob.
 
I've only this week completed my first run through of the original.

The first thing I did was apply the 1.0005 patch and install the ZRP mod which was recommended to me that I install from the start. Apart from giving better graphics and clearing up every single broken thread so I understand, the mod allows for teleporting around the various areas too and offers a free play mode at the end.

I enjoyed it immensely and am a little way though another run at it...

a few of the big mods allowed you to drive vehicles
 
That does look good I enjoyed the first one just took me 3 months to complete. Not because I am slow or anything it was just that I had to wait for the 3rd patch to solve my crashing problem so I could continue. But enjoyed it all the same.
