I hope this isn't a competitor, as I haven't seen similar things for sale on OCUK.
If it is, please say so and I'll edit out the link sharpish.

I'm looking for something like the products in the above link that can be sandwiched in the holes of the HDD bays in the Silverstone TJ07. Now I don't yet have this case in front of me, so I don't know how much clearance there is between the hard drives and the bays, or whether these grommets will fit.
I know most people buy this case to watercool, but my wallet needs to recover before I may go down that route (yes, I may be mad buying this case, but I couldn't eliminate it from my list of choices. Anyway, what's done is done). So as I will be aircooling, I'd like the hard drives in the lower compartment, preferably in the supplied enclosures (so no bungee mod suggestions please :) . Unless some crazy complex setup in the lower compartment). I have 3 hard drives atm, and will be getting 2 more soon, and I already have devices aplenty to fill the 5.25 bays (one kama bay in the lower 3 bays. I'd prefer not to mount the drives behind that, so the upper compartment can have uninterrupted airflow).

If there is small hope of damping the vibrations in those enclosures, is it possible (or just silly) to fit two of these
side by side in the lower compartment (perhaps with some modding)?
Regarding noise through the mesh, I'm thinking of gluing some acrylic or something over the inside of the mesh on the left side panel (desk layout is with the case on the right at the moment). So having fans intaking from the right mesh and exhausting out the rear (with psu also intaking from the right).
Would appreciate advice from people having experience of this case.

So you just want grommets to reduce vibration? Get a sheet of rubber or silicone and punch out holes in it then poke holes in those and place them between drive and bay and screw and bay.

Do you think these rubber things are necessary for a case like the Antec Three Hundred, where the HDDs screw straight into the bays?

My current old Antec case has grommets in the HDD enclosures, which slot into the bays, but the Antec 300 doesn't have anything like that so I just wondered if there would be much more vibration if I got that case.

The point of grommets is for bays where you screw the drives in. If they're not there to isolate the drives somewhat then all the drive vibrations are passed straight on the chassis.

I'll have to measure up, when I receive the case- I'm not sure there's enough space between drive and bay.

One thing- I remember a thread on here some time ago, where someone had used some small gel sheets, and placed them on the 'shelves' in the enclosures, and sat the drives on those. I just can't for the life of me find it, and I'm not too sure how long ago as well.

mrdbristol: Very nice. Did you somehow remove the face of the Silverstone CFP51 (bay device), and mount the drives behind that?
I suppose the upper compartment still gets enough air intake (I'll be aircooling for now).

Regarding the aircooling, I'm thinking,
Upper compartment: 2x92mm rear intake, 1x120mm front intake, 2x120mm top exhaust, and then something like Lian Li's BS-03 as a 120mm exhaust (I'll figure out some way to mount it).

Yeah, this thread has been derailed a bit, by myself :p
