Those of you thinking about getting an Onkyo 875

It's only about 25kg, you obviously have wimin musclez.

lol, it's not the weight, it's the size of the blooming box! I carried 40kg of weights up there the other week and that was nowhere near as bad!

Just waiting for this thunderstorm to go and then i can kick off the audyssey..

I'm skinny but carried a 30kg Marantz high end CD player for 2 miles mostly uphill in my arms. You can't even manage 3 flights with a measly 25kg?

30kg CD player?>??? what on earth was in it?

As i said, it was nothing to do with the weight, it's the size of the box! And i did manage it, just nearly died in the process!!

Anyway - with regards to the amp, it's doing a pretty good job. Audyssey setup was not as painful as i thought and results were surprisingly accurate. It certainly is one hot mofo, though.

Marantz CD-10. Couple of thousand when it was new. Guess you haven't moved Krell poweramps either..

Bah, I assembled my 50inch kuro by myself :p

Panel is about 34kg, which had to be lifted out of the box with both hands underneath, exactly at the centre. Then slotted it onto the swivel stand which weighed a measly 10kd. THen hoisted it up onto the av cabinet.

Arn't we a bunch of hardcore AV beasts :D

badbob, heavy cd-p, my marantz cd-63 is about 8kg now, can't strap much more to the chassis to get it up, maybe get a few more tannies in there :D

Reading the Kuro instructions it says to lay flat, is this ok? Darn annoying the stand isn't already fitted.

Moved a CRT 7" triple lens front projector by myself, really heavy but also no hand holds and large in every direction. Also moved 20+ HP Laserjet (the huge office ones) by myself.

Will be getting 5090.

Not a bad choice, not a great choice for the wallet either ;)

Can be assembled on your own, but recommend 2 people, and a beautiful lady to bring refreshments whilst assembling and setting up.

ouch - i did my panny 42" OK - but i imagine a 50" would be hard work!

I don't plan on lifting any Krell amps - unless i decide to move into a mansion with a 100sq ft living area.. ;)

Ps - in more defence of my "wimin muscles" i should point out my arms are fairly short - which probably accounts for the difficulty! (think i best get down to the gym tonight anyway!!)

Haha the balls of the man to admit it. I have really long monkey arms and small muscles, so find it stupidly hard to do anything other than lift a 1/2 pint ;)

Krell power amps and a purpose built hi-fi room built by a sound engineer. Sounds nice, but by that time i would emply a butler to warm up hi-fi for appropriate time, and make me michelin stared meals :D

And 50 tv, ye hard work, but i couldn't wait for the mrs to come home, plus I didn't trust her in helping :D

Of course, i'd just get some reasonably priced amps, some decent speakers and a cheap old CD player all wired up with coat hangers. Just to prove a point :p

Personally i'd prefer to do the cooking though.. in fact, i'd quite happily retire and spend all my time cooking and listening to music. That'd be nice.
