I wondered if it would be a good idea for people with similar systems to get together and share some bench results? I have finished my evaluation period with this card running bone stock and am ready to mess with it a bit. I am running a few benches before I overclock and thought I would post them here :)

If you also bought a new Radeon and own a 24" monitor (1920x1200) then I would appreciate it if you could share your results please as this would help myself and others get a lock on what this card can achieve!

This is not meant to be a competitive thread and screenshots are not required although if you can be bothered (and know how) please post some anyway!. I'm currently running Windows XP Pro but have just ordered a copy of Vista x64 so will be posting results from both.

The main point of this thread is information sharing so please include as much helpful data as possible for anyone else reading. It doesn't matter what benches you run as long as they were produced using a Radeon HD4850 (inc Crossfire) with benches running at 1920x1200! Also if possible really crank the AA and AF as far as you can get away with as it seems these cards still run fast!

Here is my score in 3DMark06 with 8xAA and 16xAF to start us off . . .

Well above is a High-Quality run, better than I was expecting and still some headroom for better scores from CPU and Graphic Card overclocking . . . and below the same High-Quality run but this time with 8x Anti-Aliasing

QX6850 @ Stock 3Ghz. 4GB Ram Vista 32 bit SP1 no pagefile. All ATI settings were set to high quality.

Could not get 3Dmark06 to display the system info as it has a bug under Vista where it does not run unless you use the -nosysteminfo switch to launch it from a command line. Also, Crysis would not complete the DX10 benchmark always crashing in the same spot on the last screen after running the loops due to an ATI driver bug so only did the DX9 test in Vista.

will post some up tomorrow at 1920x1080 if thats ok as my card gets here (or best had do if ocuk warehouse staff stop hiding aroung the back having a quick smoke :D )

Not sure? . . . but my best guess is:

  • Quad Core + 8MB Cache [2.4GHz or 3.8GHz?]
  • Slight HD4850 Overclock
  • You opened a can of Whoop Ass before you benched :D
Thinks: 35.74fps does seem a bit high for Crysis @ 1920x1200 8x AA High Quality though?

Run the test again MiNxYyY to check, and layout the screenshot similar to mine above

If your having problems publishing the results send them to my email in trust.

1920x1200 High Quality 8x AA

Maybe shut down your machine first, then boot back up into windows and run it, that should make it even faster!
