Hi,

Has anyone else seen the news which seems to have just been released about vadim ceasing trading ?

http://www.vadim.co.uk/articles/90/V_Solutions_LTD_has_ceased_trading

Does anyone know what's going on or have any further information ? The vadim forums and website are locked down and no information is forthcoming.

I'm stunned by the news, not least because I've just taken delivery of a vadim PC this afternoon which will have to go back as it's not completed, and I don't know if any warranties will be honored (Now I know why they were in such a hurry to deliver it today  )

Cheers,
Mick

When this sort of thing has happened to other companies in the past, they (hopefully) get taken over by another pc company.
You will have to monitor the situation and see if someone else steps in...then maybe...just maybe, they will honour the warranty.
Or, better yet, if you've paid by credit card you should have no problem in getting your money back...

wait wait wait, you bought a Vadim PC? WHY?!?!

anyway, i hope you don't have any issues.

In any such case, if you paid by credit card, or credit agreement the card/credit company has joint liability to help sort any problems out (which is why i never pay for anything cash/cheque/debit card if it's expensive or not something i can walk out of the store with).

Even if you paid using a debit card you bank may offer additional cover.

I'd hold on to the PC and try to get the money back through your card holder. They've gone into liquidation and, as such, if you send the PC back you'll not get the money back (through Vadim at least). Ironically you might actually get a free (part) PC out of it!

always liked the look of their PC's, but just a shame that they were so expensive. yet another british PC manufacturer gone

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I didn't pay by credit card :( (I remember thinking "naah they won't go bust - that sort of thing only happens to other people"). I think I'll hang on to it rather than return it, as has been pointed out I might see nothing again. Any problems I'll just have to fix myself for now.

As to why I bought a vadim, well I wanted to treat myself and I wanted something special - boy did I get that :p Looks like my first PC build may be sooner rather than later ! Off to the pub now to evaluate my options ...

Thanks again,
Mick

In mean time, BN Jackson Norton, insolvency practitioners have been appointed as the company liquidators. Not all the current orders could be completed unfortunately and as such, the liquidators will deal with such customers direct.

Maybe contact them and see what they say.

Evesham, Rock Direct, Vadim... a lot of this going around.

Incidentially, ive never heard of Vadim but i just checked their website...... they sell PC's for £9517.27 (inc VAT)!?! Who the hell spends that on a PC.

some vadim PC's can easily cost around £13k+, so for them 9.5K is cheap

holy carp, not heard of them before but just checked their website and they are a serious rip-off!! no wonder they went bust I can't imagain they ever sold anything at those prices

You could build like 6 pc's for the same amount

You've not looked very closely at what they supplying, have you? They were supplying super-high-end custom gear, and it was realistically priced for what you got. You try assembling a dual-quad Xeon Skulltrail system with 16Gb of DDR3 with Quad-SLi for under £3,000. I think you'll struggle.

its a shame tbh, they had a niche market that obviously wasnt successful as there prices were to high. Its a shame as there systems did look sexy.

What was mising from the build by the way ?
