Radeon HD4850 1920x1200 Benches Please!

There's no way it's getting a genuine 35 FPS at 1900x1200 8xAA. If that's true then i'm buying one tomorrow for my 24" screen. Wishfull thinking though!

Well hopefully we will get a better idea soon when a few more peeps post their results up.

But when I ran that bench at 1920x1200 8x AA I was expecting a slideshow and was quite suprised I only lost 8.75 fps compared to 0x AA?

20.705 fps vs 29.455 fps

Then you have a magical card, blessed by pixie dust.

Yay for you.

You should contact some review sites - they would be most interested to know how your near-stock 4850 is beating every 4870 and GTX280 score around.

how can i be getting 10+ more fps than you when my cpu is going at 2.4 still?
If you mean my results then pass! I have Aero enabled + have not tweaked Vista by disabling any services so perhaps that accounts for a few % difference as Crysis is probably optimised for DX9 + XP. You have also overclocked your card a little so that would account for a little more plus I have all the ATI quality settings @ max. CPU speed makes very little difference neither does number of cores as most of that Crysis test is all GPU based. Then I have 4Gb Ram which is always slower in benchmarks and my Ram is only DDR667 not 800 so the timings are worse as well.

2 x HD 4850 in crossfire @ default 3.2ghz Quad

3D2006 1920x1200 = 17,957 sm2 7586 sm3 7849

Crysis (dx9 all settings HIGH)
no AA 42.73 fps
4xAA 23.47 fps

Sorry no pretty pictures :)

People are gonna have to get used to cranking AA with these cards!

24" 1920x1200 screen users have always had to scrimp and hussle in that area but now it just seems weird, almost like free 8x AA!

Well not quite but nearly!
