Got some more Crucial dominator coming so how hard should i push the cpu? Its at 2400 MhZ atmo on a good air cooler using AS7. Load is about 52C when gaming atmo. Cooler is a Scythe Infinity.

Depends if you can afford to replace it... 1.4v shouldn't be a problem and will get you around 3.3gig on average or 3.6 if you got one of the ones with a higher VID by the looks of the other E6600 thread on here.

I've had one running almost 2 years on 1.65v at 3.8gig and it hasn't died or shown any signs of dying yet... (thats on water not air tho). On air you will probably top out about 3.6gig.

Ive had mine at 3.6gig but with this warm weather it gets abit toasty, so it back down to 3gig with 45 degrease on load with a asus silent square pro at 3.6 it was hitting 60 degrease core temp,1.4 volts.

Was stress testing one of mine at almost 4gig last night... 1.7+vcore hitting 78C :P its been running at 3.8gig 1.65v on water for ages (almost 2 years) and no ill effects so far... not reccomended for those who can't afford to replace the CPU tho.

What stepping is it?

My 29B stepping was running at 3.6ghz with 1.4 in the bios load temps was 54c and idle 30c...

Had a tuniq tower 120 cooler btw..

26A IIRC - one core is good for 4+gig at 1.5 the other can't take more than 3.4 at 1.5 :( good for superPi records tho if you disable one core and crank the other.
