my logi rumble used to go in stanby mode which consumed hardly any power.

this stupid 360 controller doesnt even turn off when computer shuts down. it just flashes and flashing wastes battery power....whats the deal? how do i turn it off without taking the batt off?

cheers

cheers for the reply.

the stupid controller does not even come with mapping software, this is totally unnaceptable, microsoft suck

<-- confused. is it a wireless controller? they are supposed to shut off after 3 minutes of inactivity or somewhere around that. if its wired, i assume your usb sockets remain powered when the pc is off so it'll stay on, but then that'd make the comment about battery power redundant :/

The standard 360 pad drivers are great becase they offer basic support in a whole host of games. If you want mapping, google the XBCD+ driver, its awesome, but I had issues with it not detecting the controller after coming out of standby.

ahhh after 3mins of inactivity it goes into stanby, great but what about when the pc is shut down, does it carry on flashing or stop flashing after 3? its a wireless controller

i used xpadder but then went and bought pinnacle gamer profile for a tenner because it auto switches to a desktop use controller as a mouse profile after going back to the desktop after a game. only problem is pinnacle cant launch my games for some reason.

will check out xbcd+ cheers

edit pinnacle all sorted....now im content.

i think the 360 wireless pad goes into standby after 3 mins of inactivity regardless of what its connected to, if anythin. so it should turn off even if your PC is turned off

Slightly off topic, but can you use more than one xbox controller with one wireless PC reciever?

Cheers,
PK!

right well ive disconnected the receiver and its been like over 3 minutes now and guess what, the turd crap is still flashing.

hmmm does the flashing represent stanby mode? all four lights flashing at the same time

I thought that was a "no signal" indicator? (Got that from trying to turn on an xbox when it wasnt actually plugged in. D'oh!)

PK!

right see i havent got a xbox. ok so its true there is no signal because i discoed the receiver, which is exactly what happens when you turn off the pc. so it looks like i have to disco the battery, microsoft are tops

At least yours works. My wireless receiver will only sync with the pad if I boot the PC up with no other usb devices plugged in (kb/mouse etc). Seems 'slightly' power hungry.
