£23,000 on a Corsa D?

23k on a Corsa ????
He must be an idiot, I cannot understand how you can love a ''corsa''.
It's a piggy on 4 wheels that makes a lot of noise.

I can think of hundreds of cars I'd rather have than a corsa, 260 bhp or not. It's still a pathetic tiny car with no comfort at all and just screams boy racer.

sounds ok to me.. he has money, he loves corsas so he bought the very best one he could.. if it really has that power it will be a ton of fun to drive ?

not sure if spending money on something 'we wouldn't buy' makes him some kind of retard..lot of 'green eyes' in this thread, as most of us (inc me) don't have that kind of cash for a motor whatever make / model it is.

i agree the corsa VXR with all the 888 mods will be great fun to drive

Fact of the matter is though is he's lieing out of his rear to sound good on the internet. If he is going to become a chartered engineer, he'll be a student at uni and wont be in a position to be able to afford repayments on 23,000 in finance

If he's not studying to be a chartered engineer, well he's still lying on the internet to sound good which ever way you cut it.

and this is before we get into the whole debate as to whether he is even buying the car, given he has little idea what mods he's just forked out for, and whether the car even has cruise control or not.

THere are just so many things that stand out that he's lieing. Ive not got a problem with the brand new corsa vxr bit, its the rest of the lies.

Another nutcase.

I really like the Corsa VXR and Triple 8 do some cool bits for it but £23k on a Corsa is still loony.

I wouldn't agree with the comment about it being "pathetic" because I don't believe it is. It's excellent fun, handles well and has some serious poke for a car its size. That doesn't exactly make it pathetic in my book.

I think I'd rather by a second hand nissan sunny that drive that hideous thing around.. seriously man

WTF? why would you want to spend that much hard earned coinage on one of those Corsa D - Nail.

Fact is it will be quicker and more fun to drive then most people’s cars in here that have rubbished it, they are good little cars but 23K is a lot of money on one. It’s his money at the end of the day I’m sure you lot have had your heart’s set on something maybe this is his?

No doubt it will be quick and fun but for the money...so much more choice.

Outgoing corsa SRI 1.8 (C) £11,500 list. Incomming VXR 16k (D) (ish). Too much money for a Corsa

Yea 23K is a lot of money on one :D Bet it’s a fast little motor, seen a review of the car and its stated 6s to 60.

no one is doubting how good the car is, its more the fact that he's spending so much on it and given it to a company to 'do as they please' which is utter BS. The guy is a moron, that can easily be seen but good luck to him with his engineering stuff as i dont think he's even passed a GCSE in his life.

Have you even driven the latest Corsa VXR ?

even fox liked it for goodness sake, and he's a hard man to please. Amongst its target audience of the Ford Fiesta ST and Renaultsport Clio it fares very well, and got far from bad press.

Theres nothing wrong with the corsa VXR, more than there is buying any other new car - the price premium you pay and the ammount you lose in depreciation.

And will people stop quoting that £23,000 figure. The Corsa VXR is £16,000. And if you've got another GM car (ie Saab, Chevrolet Vaxuhall etc..) you'll get 8 % discount on it which isnt too bad.

no one is doubting how good the car is, .

THe person i quoted above is, and theres plenty of OcUK snobbery going on in this thread, with people turning there noses up at it just because its a corsa.

in exactly the same way that £26,000 is too much money for a Vectra if you buy a vectra VXR.

People just turn there noses up at them because of the vaxuhall badge. Its no worse than spending £25,000 on a mondeo as some people did last year buying mondeo ST220s

at the end of the day, somebody has to buy your car new and pay through the nose for it, because company car schemes dont buy cars like this. If you want an ex rep mobile or company car, then you're fine to just leave the car buying to companies. But if no private individuals bought cars, there would be no hot cars around. I mean who buys a BMW M3 as a company car for example ?

Somebodys got to do it.

*edit* that is assuming of course he is taking his degree in engineering. Quite how you get sufficient A level results to do engineering without being able to spell chartered i dont know.

The offer for my BEng degree required me to get an E in physics at A-Level :p

I'm no closer to being charderd though :(

Maybe he really likes corsas and in which case its not a bad buy. Sure its expensive for a corsa but if it makes him happy then fair play.

Hardly a crap car in standard form :)
