HDMI leads seem to have a crazy price range, I've seem them from £15 up to £100!

Does it really make THAT much difference?

I've got a 1080p TV (LE40A557P2FXXU) and I'm borrowing a mates PS3 to see what I think, can someone recommend me a reasonably priced HDMI lead please?

Cheers,

G

I will happily bet £1000 that no-one can tell the difference between a working HDMI lead at any price range. I'll also happily apply the same bet to power conditioners and speaker cables (as in reasonably thick well made vs. audioquest).

Get one off here:

for a few quid. As long as you're not doing long runs it'll do you fine, if not, return it and get a replacement.

Mine cost £3.69 and it's just as good as a friend of mines ex who recently paid £100 for some crappy Monster cable.

If you pay more than £5 you've been had.

Yup, cheapest one, but check the build quality of a cable if you will fequently plugging and unplugging it.

If the lead is broken then you will either get no picture, or a very distorted picture with lots of sparklies.

no point in expensive cables, i think it's just the companies making a cheap cable & having a huge profit margin on there, another vote for a chpea cable, it's a case of it'll either work or it won't

I think I would like to take you up on this point :)

That was a joke I take it?

I hope so as its digital information travelling not analogue.

If it was an analogue signal then fair enough as better shielding and better copper results in a better picture and sound. BUT digital like HDMI sends the data as 0 and 1's so it's either there in full or not.

The only thing you'll be getting by spending more money is (possibly) a better quality cable.

As long as you get one that wont fall apart then it's fine. More money wont make any difference in picture / audio quality.

Monster cables for the best signal and amazing HD output

O WOWZERS, got to try them. Do they have an uber helix cryo airtreated weave along with anti-magnetised-grain-aligned shielding cover with black colour to prevent light from entering cable area ??????????????????????

Il take 12 :D
