Any planning officers on here

My gf is a planner, only an assistant at the moment though, shes going back to uni in sept to do the course to become RTPI'd
She works for the New Forest Council :)

If architects submitted correct plans with planning applications the whole process would be a lot easier :p

Off topic but as an engineer, if architects could actually draw accurate drawings, it would stop everyone else phoning them to check dimensions. :p

p.s. I am also studying to get Part 1 atm.

The plans are correct, its just the planners cant read them and thus send ridiculous requests for further information (ie the side elevations of a terrace house, don't laugh, I have actually had this request) to simply delay the 8 week decision time period :p

borich is a town planner but he's not around enough these days to probably see this thread. he's public and not RTPI till next year

You shouldn't measure off the drawings anyway, there are diamension on all the key sides. :p

I actually have a Part I, was doing a Part II, built a bunch of stuff in between and I can proudly say i have NEVER had a planning application rejected in over 2 and a half years :)

If a terraced house is having a rear extension then of course side elevations will be needed :o

That's the exact attitude

and for the record there still wasn't any side elevations needed for the house as it mirrored the 2 adjoining properties
