Going over there tomorrow on holiday.

Just wondering if anyone else has been there and stayed and worked, I'm thinking about doing it if i can and if the moneys good.

The place rocks!! :D

I was there a few weeks ago with the gf and it was awesome.

Prepare to get your nuts baked - it's scorching at the moment, hit 47 deg whilst we were out there.

What are you going for holiday wise? Clubbing? or more relaxing?

Not got a personal view on work over there, but spoke to a few people working there. Majority of the younger generation seem to either work in the MANY bars/restaraunts. It's teeming with them, so getting work there wouldn't be a problem.

Of the more interesting jobs I saw loads of English guys/girls working in the waterpark which is about 3km from Ayia Napa. Seemed to me a bit more interesting than bars... There was also a few doing the watersports on the beach.

Are you sure you can hack the hot temperatures for a long time though? I'm quite used to them due to travelling with work, but 2 weeks in that temperature knocked me for 6 :o Personally I couldn't not only due to the heat but it'd **** me off watching everyone having a good time whilst i'm working. It'd kind of destroy that type (sun, sea, sand) of holiday for me for a while.

Ayia Napa is cool, WE got married there in 2006 as we loved the place so much.
Weather, people and atmosphere are easily the most relaxed ive ever been in. The bars are great, even somewhere as cheesey as the Jasmine Inn a couple hundred yards above the square.
The car wash etc is good craic for music most of the way through the night and if you want to get trolleyed on the cheap, call into the funpark in the middle of ayia napa and drink at the little bar beside the slingshot, shots and spirits for a quid odds when I was last there. The square is funky in that it leads onto as many different types of pubs and clubs as you can shake a stick at and hopping through them gets cheapo rounds of drinks too. Get your arse onto a boat cruise to famagusta if you are single or want to be surrounded by blond german bints with no shyness at all!

Just got back from Napa last week.

Was way too hot for me, 40+ every day without fail.

The nightlife on the other hand was great, really enjoyed that aspect of it. Bit expensive though, 10 euro in Castle Club (we got in for free 9/10 nights though cos there was 13 of us) and 5-7 euro a bottle.

search Ayia Napa on youtube

looks like its full of chavs...

i prefer to go to places where they cant afford the airline ticket

Look again neocon, its one of the only places ive ever been that has families out wandering the streets at 2am+ in the morning with no fear of finding trouble, in all of the times both my missus and i have been there, we've seen one scuffle. The bars are so varied that any undesireables will be at certain types of clubs and there are plenty of others around for the rest of us.

got a letter from thomas cook today to inform me that the hotel we're staying in ayia napa (16th july to 30th july) was overbooked so they've relocated us to a hotel in PROTARAS!! FFS!!!! we wanted to stay in ayia napa, sadly there is no hotel left in A.N :(

contact the riverside apartments wesley, three sets of apartments (pool and light food at the serving hatch) basic but close to the square (beside the jasmin inn and a few great restaurants) and walking distance to everything in ayia napa.

Have you ever been there?, or isnt it good enough for you?

I got back from Ayia Napa three weeks ago, great place, not much to do in the morning or afternoon, but the nightlife is amazing, make sure you speak to the reps to get free booze out of them, oh, and avoid Club Ice!!

Make sure to visit the Sapporo Teppanyaki restaurant (right up at the top, near all the dodgy-themed restaurants like the flintstones, etc). It's proper good food, and dirt cheap. Another restaurant you might want to look at is 'Fiji', which is polynesian food, and themed with all sorts of island stuff, that was a bit expensive though, but I think worth it.

After going there, we found it had another branch in Liverpool. It was nearly four times more expensive over here. I've stayed in the hotel 'Adams Beach', which is right on Nissi Bay (which, again, you NEED to go to), crystal clear waters, lovely and warm, and no more than neck-high for a loooong way. You can rent scuba, jet skis, banana boats and so on from a place there, too. There's also a small island you can swim to, and jump off a cliff into the deep water, if you're feeling brave enough.

As for Protaras, I've stayed there too. There's a McDonalds at one end, then a mile or two of pubs, bars, karaeoke, cafes, restaurants, minigolf, arcades, souvenir shops, blah blah blah. You shouldn't have much trouble finding somewhere to work, hopefully. Also, the beach there was quite good. Dunno if other people will agree, but I found Protaras a lot chavvier/tackier than Ayia Napa, which overall, was great, didn't seem chavvy at all, and I went in August.

That's me spent (for now, I'll post if anything else comes to me :p)

The Scuba diving goes out and round the little island that hires out the pedalos, its pretty cool though not overly laiden with shals of fish, just the few occaional med sized things. I have under water camera pics still needing to be developed from last time we were over, I really should get them done.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

That's for your choice of food, choice of holiday and way of entertaining yourself in a foreign country which is......exactly the same #### you do back home tbh... :)

What I love about Greece is that it is becoming more and more expensive to keep this kind of "tourism" out.
