I go round a friends has and she has a E6750 while she wasn't looking, had a little play with overclocking her rig, its a little beauty would love to have a little play with it, i.e stick a decent cooler on it.
Just tried the FSB, put to 400, never touched anything else, straight into windows, thought lets try 450 for a laugh, into windows, then locked soon after.
I see all the voltage adjustments, thought hmm some fun to be had there.
Looked like 3.6ghz was easy obtainable, maybee more.

I overclocked the X300SE in a friends Dell once for a laugh, the core and mem ramped up quite a bit but there wasn't much you could do with it.
lol, X300SE, bad times.

I have done but I find it too much hassle tbh trying to fiddle about with it and then if any little thing goes wrong its all your fault, I like to be able to just sit and fiddle in the comfort of my own home :D

I'm usually roped into building any new PC's when my friends/family want them, none of them ever make it to their desks at stock. :p

i always get scared if i do anything slightly complicated with friends pcs. my mates pc had LOADS of viruses and he wasnt updating his AVG. So i uninstalled AVG and installed Nod32, while it was scanning for viruses, it crashed, he restarted, and now he has the blue screen :S

Hmm.

But to answer your question, no. Don't want to be considered responsible if anything goes wrong with their PC (something will eventually, and I don't want to be the scapegoat!). :)

Yeah always, i want to clock my mates pc really cant be bothered physically wanting to go to his house.
But he isnt most computer litterate and sometimes does silly things with software.

am currently benching my flat m8s now overclocked e4800 whilse im on my pc typing this! He is a fool to let me near his stuff haha

I've learned long ago that things will ALWAYS go wrong when you're fiddling on someone else's PC. You could be running Spybot, the power goes down, hard drive corruption ensues, and it'll be construed as your fault.

I always clock pc's that i build for friends and family. But when i hand them over to them, they are always set back to stock. There is enough potential for grief building for friends and family in the first place, without the added aggro of handing them a clocked rig.

It's bad enough having to do 24/7 technical support without overclocking. I even underclocked one once as the easiest solution to the problem ;)

Would love to have a go at overclocking my brothers old a64 4000 rig as he's away on holiday. but knowing my luck something would go wrong:D

Overclocking a friends PC without them knowing however tempting is wrong! That's why I overclock my works PC!!!! Just to get it out of my system!
