Anyone else think these are a bit of a ripoff, £100-£125 (for the animal version) 3 hours to charge and only 6 minutes usage? Was considering getting one for the car but theres no option even to power it from the power connector inside. Doubt 6 mins would be long enough to give inside a good going over even.

I used my other halfs mums handheld dyson and it is awsome, my car was spotless!

It suprised me.

Yup the one we have for downstairs i think is really good as well, just 6 mins for a 3 hour charge seems a bit crap. Im really picky about the inside of the car as well, just suprised thers no adaptor to run it through the power connector inside the car.

Dyson > * basically. Ask any woman.

:p

Don't doubt the sucking power, just find it odd that a handheld that would probably at some point be used in a car (if not bought specifically for that purpose) has no way to be powered from inside the car. Just seems like an amazingly stupid oversight.

The Dyson we have seems fine...even after 4 or 5 years of use...I am really surprised at the 6 minute thing...(notice how we used to say Hoover to mean a vacuum cleaner, but now we use Dyson to show how 'one up' we are technologically over hoovers...)

6 minutes? Is that all?!! :p

For the record my Dyson is 7 years old this month and still works fine. It's been down the stairs once and I regulalry use it to suck up all the crap and rusty car debris in the garage. Can't be made that badly.

I've got one. Does the job very well. If you can't clean you car in 6 minutes then there's something wrong with you.

But yes, the downside is that there's no way to vacuum whilst connected to the mains.

Its a handheld battery powered hoover. What were you expecting.

I have one (got it for £70) and it is frickin awsome. Ok, it only lasts 6 minutes, but they are 6 minutes of as much power as you get from a mains powered hoover. It you're intending on doing your carpet with it, you are going to be severely dissapointed. However it is ideal for those little jobs where you can't be arsed to get the main vacuum out.

There is simply nothing else to compare with it.

Oh and as for an 'in car adaptor'. The dyson runs on 21 volts, so to run from in a car would involve an inverter which would be quite costly.
