Frankly, I can't see there being a big difference between this and the 512mb versions, at most resolutions.

Again, wait for benchmarks to determine.

The card won't be available until the end of the month anyway, so you have 3 weeks to wait for benchmarks before you have to make that decision.

In my case its wether or not i can hold onto the pennies. Finish work for the holidays tomorrow with 3 weeks holiday pay. Gotta try my best not to blow it all to quickly

Would i get 1024mb or 512 as my ram, or would they not crossfire.

Both cards would use 512mb. It would be a waste to mix the 512mb with the 1024mb version.

Well, I'll be buying a 4870 sometime soon, but time and benchmarks will tell whether its the 512Mb or 1 gig version.

I can see this getting even closer to GTX280 for again 100+ quid less.
Wouldn't be suprised if this will be about same performance.
