Requirements on starting motor racing?

I'm not familiar with car racing but I do know from a bike point of view. It will probably have a similar vein to it. 90% detail has been removed from this to give you just a rough outline. If you want more information then check out my blog and add me to MSN for a chat. :)

1. Apply for your club license and governing body race license (in my case Bemsee and the ACU respectively). The club countersigns your race license. You can race a 125 bike from the age of 13 I believe as you require no driving license to obtain a race license.

2. Buy your own race vehicle and means of transporting it around the country if its not going to be road legal.

3. Attend written exam and possibly a track assesment to determine if your safe (with your own car)

4. Enter your first race meeting, normally testing will be held the day before. The main key to improvement is more track time. Tuning and performance parts are far less important than practice on track.
