I have an Audi A3 (98), its getting on a bit now and has 65k on the clock.

Niggly things currently are

1. Squeeky brakes, had new pads and discs 12 months ago and they still squeek.

2. Drivers side door lock does'nt catch properly so have to be gentle when closing. Bought a new lock so hopefully fitting it this weekend.

3. DIS faded pixels. Commom problem apparently.

4. Tailgate sometimes difficult to open, when I press the handle nothing happens until I use some force.

Smells of petrol if you come up to a give way sideways

Steering column rattles over big bumps

Mirror bends in on the motorway

Too slow

Vauxhall Astra 2001 1.4. Thats my biggest problem, had a nissan primera SI, Miss it a lot.

exhaust rattles about a fair bit

goes into 3rd gear fine while accelerating then doesnt want to go back into it when slowing down for a junction.

wiper linkage keeps coming off (punto mk2, common problem, currently held on with cable ties)

steering wheel is off centre a fraction to the right, does my head in if it catches my eye.

no footrest for my left foot :(

The most annoying thing with my car is that I don’t have it! It was meant to be back today but apparantly not all the parts have turned up :(

1997 MK6 Escort 1.3

Hideously underpowered, 55bhp!

Does 25-30MPG!

Leaks a little bit in the boot

The skinny wheels look stupid

Black plastic bumpers

Gaffer tape over my rear bumper due to some idiot not being able to park properly.

Can be juddery when it is very cold.

The only good bits are that is fairly comfortable, the gearbox is nice and positive, the steering feels spot on and the brakes are good.

Knocking over poorly surfaced roads, more a knock/rattle, fixed that with new anti-roll bar links.

Other than that the centre console tends to rattle from time to time, more after playing loud music but sometimes can happen all the time.....so I turn the music up.....its a vicious circle :)

1. Scraping type noise I am yet to find+other noises! wheels bearings tomorrow

2. Unmapped = cant give it hell :o

3. Ticks over between 900 and 1500 revs making me looking like bit of a racer.

4. intercooler pipes I had made just not such a great fit

5. Need to sort old rollcage bolt holes on rear inner arches/drum as when its wet my tires chuck water through them and onto the back of my head :D

I have a squeak which comes from the passenger seat but I don't get it when the I'm carrying a passenger...annoying.

The fact that it needs claybarring and I need to motivation :p

too slow, wheels and tyres are rubbish, suspension too soft, seats not supportive enough, steering wheel too big and ugly, rear trim rattles like a good'un. My next car will fix all but one of these things, I am being very patient.

ouch!

First car? :)

Yeah, bar the niggly points i have stated its been a very good first car. Its been very reliable, i've been able to service myself very cheaply, i've only had to top it up with a tiny bit of oil since i changed it last year, the heater is nice and toasty and there's plenty of room for all my RC gear :)

It will get replaced this october with either a mk1 Focus 1.6 or a 1.25 Fiesta or maybe a fiesta zetec-s purely for economy reasons. The reason for the poor mpg on the escort is that it needs to be worked to build up any pace, if i drove it like a coffin dodger mid 30's would be acheivable.

*small light silently illuminates to inform you the engine is about to explode*

4th gen Prelude

Most anoying thing has to be the indicators being on the right hand side of the steering wheel. Especially if i drive another car and keep switching the window wipers on.
Oh and luggage space isnt great

edit - Also on sunny days the dash board reflect onto the windsreen limiting visibility in the bottom half of the windscreen.
