sim city 4

This game is VERY easy to make money, you just have to build sensibly and not over spend.

I do realise that however with the amount of highways and roads (rather than streets) I thought he would make a big loss however looking at the pictures it would be due to the lack of schools, hosp, police etc.

Making 14.7%, with full hosp, sch, college, library, police, fire. 2kw of power extra also. Commute time @ ~45 mins and no congestion.

Thought I would give this NAM thing a try. Was very happy to see I can now build roads over rail very easily, so off I went. Problem tho. The cars come up to the road bridge over the rail and just vanish - they also don't appear on the other side. I did one of the driving missions and tried to go over the bridge - what happens is that the game acts like the bridge isn't there....my car passed through the bridge and onto the grass underneath. Am I doing something wrong with this add-on

A pic would be handy. I don't exactly know what you mean, or anyways, it shouldn't happen, on all of the standard bridges the traffic is enabled properly.

Well thanks to you lot ive installed this again and im having trouble with some of the plugins. (the tesco one for example)

The plugins are all found easy enough but ill be damned if i can find all the dependencies they require.

As such i cant even load into a game so im thinking a reinstall will be required and then just try NAM.

Anyone else have trouble getting the dependencies or did ya get them all from simtropolis too?

From simtropolis, ALWAYS read the installation instructions/readme, they include the (links for the) dependencies for 99% of all stuff, I've only got one or 2 buildings installed that malfunction as the maker had forgot to say there were any dependencies while I have 2 gb of plugins now... Anyways for starters you could try sticking to well known makers that always test and put dependencies in the instructions: BSC stuff, PEG stuff, Ill Tonsko, Ndex team, Simgoober, Deadwoods, and there's one name i forgot but they always made skyscrapers they have a red yellow logo always...

Just installed this and been playing on the big city tutorial map. Doing ok. expecpt I want rid of the industrial as there isn't as much demand for it and want in the clean industry and how do I get the commute times.

I also struggle with road planning and it will never let me put one way streets in.

Hopw do I make roundabouts?

right i made a good so far region, making absolute tons of money in the RES region, using bare min services etc.

However i do have a problem with my IND city... first, it doesnt really create much income, and 2nd, my Sims are becoming too smart, so this IND city is going through a bit of a depression because all the dirty Ind cant get workers anymore.

should i just plonk down and fill my res city with more houses to get mass influx of new, uneducated sim to boost my IND city?

i got like 2million sim $'s in res city and about 1000 in the ind city lol :(

Best thing to do is give water to your industry region, this way it allows I-M to grow. If you have only a really small bar requesting I-HT, ignore that for now, wait until your population is peaking around 30k.

Have you set up a Power Plant in your Industry region? Along with a waste to energy plant? Generally the Industrial region doesnt start to make good money until I-M comes in and even then its nothing massive.

If you have a big request for I-HT, then increase the taxes to industry dirty and medium and only allow I-HT to grow within your residential region. Also do the opposite in your industry region, raise the taxes for I-HT and maybe think about plopping down some High Density too, just make sure I-HT doesn't grow, otherwise you'll end up with empty buildings.

yeah in my res city i have 2 HT industry parks.

In my Industry city i have 2 coal plants and 2 waste to energy plants and they running at like 90%. The problem now is demand, the City is dirty and Manufacturing however the sims next door want HT. But i cant kill polution in this city and start making it a HT zone because it has no money. It was running at a loss untill i added bus stations which boosted it rather well into the green @ $1000.

maybe i should knock the schools down in the Res city? lol :D

aint really got the money for it. There is a small HT area within this city however as the pollution spreads outwards it probably will all end up abandoned.

Please tell me you where running the waste to energy plants at 0% funding? otherwise you where pretty much throwing your money away. With 0% funding the waste to energy plant still collects and burns rubbish, but produces 0 energy. Does the industrial zone have water?

if it run at 0% id have no power. they running at 110% (both coal and waste to energy) right now and thats leaving me 96% of used power. IE i need a new plant within a few years. but have no money for it.

yes i have 6 water plants and barely making enough with those either. They are at 98%

If i was you, i'd try reducing the funding of the WTE plants and building more coal plants, you'd end up saving more money considering its 310 to max out coal plants and like 1.2k for WTE.

Also check the usage of the port, is it being used enough to compensate the monthly cost?

Anyone know how to check what version of sim city 4 delux i got to see if it needs patching ?

I started all over again, here are some pics of my residential zone and industrial zone, please take a look, tell me what you think and give me some feedback/tips.

Thanks!
