So today after months of seeing these speakers being left in my head of years office I asked the owner if he had any intent of bringing them home... he said.. no take them if you want..I obliged.

they were...

Tannoy Mecury-S.. just hooked them up and they sound superb.

haha yeh I guess so.. I just wondered if anyone could shed light on the speakers as i dont have a clue about them!

I used to have some old Tannoy Mercurys, Used them for about 8 years until I recently got a surround sound system for music and films. I think they're great, When I listen to music on them I can hear bits I can't hear on other speakers.

Just saying that Tannoy speakers seem to be thought of quite well on the AV Forums.
