Freemasonary....

I had a work colleague who claimed to be in the masons. Turned out he was a white supremacist total scumbag. Perhaps the two are not mutually exclusive. Aparently they have about 13 different "secret handshakes" one I recall is called "Shibboleth", a word which I think Hebrews could not pronounce and was used as a password. These handshakes revolve around where exactly you place your fingers and what you say and how long you have been there. Load of old nonsense imo.

I work for the Freemasons in Australia and as much as you guys like to slate them they do a huge amount of charitable work for the community.

I work for one of over 20 charities they run in NSW and every penny of the money is spent on helping people in need.

It's dying pretty badly at the moment. Everyone I meet is in their 50's or older so I doubt it'll be around for too much longer.

Why is it secret, I mean just what is it they gotta hide from the rest of us?

Or is that a deliberate lure to get people interested and join there club?

They are just a bunch of old men who give money to charity, have dinners and maintain a few traditions/rituals. AFAIK most of the conspiracy theory stuff is nonsense - I'm a not a mason but am a member of a couple of organisations with affiliated lodges - they are fairly open and pretty eager for people to see what they are all about.

Plenty of universities, army regiments, other groups/associations etc.. have masonic lodges - it isn't some secret society/conspiracy nonsense.

Basically it's a load of blokes that sit around and laugh about how they've got the world thinking they control everything, when in fact it's just a boy's club of mutual backscratchers.
thats the truth acording to a documentary i saw where they allowed cameras to film in the lodges.

aparently the only evil lodge was one in italy that went rogue ,they tried to overthrow the italian goverment but failed.

i guess most freemasons will never really know what goes on at the top between all the grandmasters though.

as above poster says the regular lodges are pretty open and want to get rid of the reputation that there some secret cult trying to shape the world

I was under the impression that most of the 'charities' that the masons donate to are in fact ones that benefit the masons themselves ie Masonic hospitals.
Can anyone confirm this, or do they give generously to non-masonic charities ?

In Australia they give to charities run by the Masons, the facilities and charitable gifts those companies give are available to everyone in the community.

We recently spent $60,000 on specialist equipment for a severely disabled 8 y/o girl. She and her family had no ties to the Masons at all.

We received over $1m in donations from lodges this year. When you consider the entire population of Australia is only 20m there's some pretty generous people out there.

My Dad used to be a Master Mason, doesn't really tell me that much about it. From what I can gather though it involved a lot of charity work and a nice social life.

Are you saying being a white supremacist scumbag and being a work colleague of yours is somehow linked?

Lol no. He was a rasict scum bag and a violent nasty little swine(there is a little more to the story which I wont go into). He really did not last very long, a couple of weeks. He was claiming to be a mason, yet turned out to be a neo-nazi which I found odd, as I dont often meet such inviduals within my working or social life. He was a member of some group which I forget the name now, he had some flag with a crown and a cross or something as his MSN picture I recall, which was it's crest. It was a few years ago now and I am getting on a bit, memory not what it once was and all that.

There's nothing conspiracy about them, its just a members club where they have charitable events and chat and stuff.

I think that Stone Cutters Simpsons episode has a lot to do with most peoples' opinions of them ;)

Ahaha I work at a bank and some of our senior directors are free masons. It's basically the above where well to do gentlemen smoke cigars, organise things for charity and have a bit of a social do.

It is quite secrative though and none of them ever bang on about it.

My great uncle was the Master of his Lodge, he's never spoken about it to the rest of the family and although he has now left, he does have to go back to certain meetings.

My mum was talking about it recently and she gets the impression he has fallen out of sorts with the whole thing, he now frequently refers to them as "The Mafia". I think this is more to do with the fact he is locked in for life and now in his retirement and not in the best of health they still wont leave him alone.

They even have open days if you want to find out a bit more from the horses mouth as opposed to the other end.

I don't know, I only knew of that because at the time I was living in Canada (Where he and his wife now live).

I was invited to a big due to celebrate the event. All I know is once you reach Grand Master you hold it for 1 year, then you step down but after that I have no clue where you go from there.. I do remember my uncle saying something about it at the time but I cant remember specifics.

They have three stages. Grand master, Assistant grand master and assisstant assisstant grand master. You get voted into the third position and are then trained up to be Grand Master over the two years. You hold the position for one year and can hold it multiple times though it is uncommon.

This basically is what they do. And sing hymns really loudly, toast the queen and shout stuff about fire and stone.

I'm a waiter in the local Masonic restuarant, and they never ever tip.

However they do have a "temple" upstairs that me and the others are determined to sneak into.

Freemasonary is a brotherhood. Put it this way "I scratch your back you scratch mine"... so in other words they look after their own. Thing is Freemasons control govenment, police, money, arts etc...

Have you ever noticed people in life who seem to have no talent getting good jobs or promotions over someone better qualified? Most likely their father is a freemason or a freemason them selfs... remember freemasons look after their own kind!

Again when you got such a close knite group who become powerful, it is open to all sorts of corruption.

And to a former post about Freemasions giving loads of money to charities... where do they get all this money from in the first place if they just a nice group of men who have strange meetings upstairs? Giving to charities does not make you good... it depends on your motives... some do it to pay less tax!!

Lastly Freemasons is a religion - they worship Satan - they believe Satan was the good one and God is the evil one! Madness
