As usual I've left it until the last minute and now the price of what I was going to get has put me off immensely.
Orient express trip to Tatton flower show, not my cuppa tea but she wouldn't want to go on her own.
£531 for two of us is taking the **** somewhat :(

Got any other suggestions a little more in my price range.
Would prefer a memorable type thing than than some tat for say the garden (although she has suggested she wants an obelisk) boring. :(

I still have time to book this if I must but think that's a bit steep.
 
if you have the cash take her on the day out, yes its a lot of money but it'd be nice to look back on!

Last years pressie was a balloon flight and as of yet we haven't been able to get on it, they keep cancelling it because of bad weather. She's looking forward to that as well.
She's had a new hip last month, I don't think a parachute jump is going to go down too well. (excuse the pun) :D Funny none the less though.

Good Idea, in the absence of better suggestions this will certaily go down well, maybe a bunch of flowers too.
Check your internetz for good local places to eat, will cost a lot less than £500, I took the missus to a really nice place the other week, think the total bill came to about £100, but thats including a bottle of plonk or two.
 
I would say bite the bullet and spend the money.

It's your mother afterall, 70th aswell! Just think how happy you will make her!
