Relic have always been very vocal about the fact that Tyranids would need a new engine to do them justice and reassured people it would be one of their objectives to make them work when the time for a sequel came about.
 
People on relicnews seem pretty convinced this is Tyranids.
- The cloud is not present at the beginning of the cinematic
- It is between the planet and the moon
- It is moving pretty quickly for it to have enveloped that whole area in that time

I'm convinced... now just for the official announcment and ingame footage of these badboys :)

Tyranids are pretty much the only race left that hasn't been covered in the original DOW and it's expansions. Unless they are planning a Squat/Zoat revival...
 
I want to see individual armies, so Blood Angels with the death company, plus other chapters, then you could have the biel tan swordwind with the court of young king, a dark angel ravenwing army and stuff like that.
 
How would the hive mind work? Also i would like to see titans in battle the complete the full scale of what a 40000k war would be like. I want the epic stuff. The first dow felt like a town square brawl. Mind you still loved the game but never forgiven them for not using the dark angles or Blood angels. Its a fanastic games universe 40k

Fraid it's going to be more of the same judging by the interviews, in fact it looks like they're making it even smaller scale and removing some of the resource management.

Don't mind personally, I don't really want Warhammer40k - Total War.

Yeah, ok. It could be Tyranids then. I thought the pointing at the sky meant a possible Greenskin invasion or something.

Tyranids would be cool, but if memory serves, some of those beasties are huge mofos (going by backstory/fluff). Would be interesting to see what kind of models they have in game.
 
Another thing with the trailer is the darkness, which could be a clue. With the original I couldnt imagine Tyranids running about, they might look silly. This one the Giger esque creatures would fit in perfectly, as long as they arent too garishly coloured.

Zoats were Tyranid scouts for the coming of the first hive fleet and are OFFICIALLY now not a part of the Warhammer universe.
Squats are part of the imperium just like the guard, so they could make an appearance, but their has never been a real call for them.


As for the Tyranids, well I feel you are clutching at straws with these presumptions. It looked far more like the eye of terror

That isn't to say we will not be seeing them. I would imagine they will appear in an expansion though as come on it would be an instant seller for ALL 40k fans to play as the zerg...woops ;) I personally however would like to see Chaos done right first, so splitting Chaos into factions of Nurgle, Tzeentch and Slaanesh


I feel that there is so much in the way of units for Tyranids that it actually needs its own expansion.

On the subject of the video though.. I thought it was far better than the first, but I hope to god they have a dedicated team making new ones because it was something they were lacking in the first DOW.

As another subject is there anybody who wouldn't pay good money to see a movie like that??

Well the Dark Crusade intro was good. Did Soulstorm have one? I can't remember. It amazes me we haven't seen a warhammer film at any point, would rock hard.

not any more, they've officially been 'written out' like the Zoat (according to Wikipedia there was some vague mumbling about their entire race being wiped out by a Tyranid hive fleet, never to be heard from again). Shame, trikes were cool.
