Is there anything like this out yet for PC's? i.e. to put into your HTPC and record HDTV?

i have a WinTV-NOVA-HD-S2 which receives all freesat channels and hd channels.

Is this just the same as having a sky box without a card (as some channels can seemingly only be watched with an old (expired) sky card.

Will this allow you to watch Dave and other channels that I can't currently get?

no..

but most of the channels u can receive including chancel 4, and 3 hd channels.

Yes you can with a CI adaptor

yes i know that but he was asking just about the WinTV-NOVA-HD-S2, which will only pick up free to air channels
