I prefer those Spoon instrument clusters...those ones which cost mega bucks and light up all coloury and stuff! YA MAN!

However that is very good! I get ~380mi per tank on my passat, I should try driving efficiently.

Just checked and the official combined MPG figure for the 318Ci is actually 40mpg - the extra-urban is even higher.

So congrats, you just about scraped the official mixed mpg figure

i just got 500 miles out of a tank in a 525d auto, although i do use the steptronic manual override quite a bit
not fantastic, although i have a heavy foot some of it was town driving, and some of it was autobahn storming..

i don't think i could ever drive slowly enough to get that sort of mileage out of a petrol bmw :/

Indeed, which is why I said I don't really drive "slow" as some have said above and my commute is quite short even though it's got part motorway, it's just the town driving at both ends that gives 39.7MPG (at current fuel level, this always increases over the 2nd half of the tank). Highest official is 43.5MPG in the manual and I averaged 41.1 coming back from stoke with 3 adults and 2 kids + boot load the other week so not so bad

when I engage super turbo mode, I go so fast that my engine enters a little known state where the rpm drops to 800 and the speedo can't detect my speed. It also makes the engine go cold and I have to keep the handbrake on to stop it from travelling through time (it's actually 8800mph to travel through time in real life).

No cheating at all. Was reset when leaving OcUK and pic taken when I got home. Was doing 70MPH all the way on cruise.
