Lets go back to the days when people read beyond the thread title... I really don't care about crime being better or worse than it was 20 years ago... my area is virtually crime free if I'm honest.

I just want to buy some cool gadgets I can use on my friends and local neds that annoy me and might double up as a Halloween costume.

well you can get the grappling hook one with a manual winch and some sort of cros bow, but it's going to be slow hard and classed as an illegal weapon, and with very poor range due to the rope .

Hmm not sure how old you are are, but as the decades roll by you will come to understand you utter powerlessness.

You cannot do anything. You are not supposed to do anything, you are not allowed to do anything.

Policing is about maintaining government control over use of force to maintain law and order. That is to say (in this country) ensuring that the vast majority of the populace is kept unarmed and powerless so that we can't really hurt each other much, and more especially rise up and threaten the state.

Edit: And god knows the whole miserable, politically correct, corrupt, incompetent, self serving, class ridden state needs to be risen up against

I can look back and my childhood and think how pretty the world was...but oh....wait....a guy got kneecapped in my street(didn't hear till recently) and there was a full on street riot on the next block up! Same area where my dad went to his car to find two junkies in it...yeh today is so bad!

I will say parents need a lesson on how to bring up kids though. Parents moaning at me because they can't tell their kid they cant get a bike until a few days later when they need to learn to tell the kids no!

65 years back is when this country was awesome & amazing, when the "chavs" of that era were flying bombers etc fighting the producers of your wonderful car!

Today I'd hate to think of the responce of the nation if we were in such a position again.......
