sim city 4

Looks really good!

You might want to add a waste to energy plant with 0% funding to your industrial sector, so it collects the rubbish from your residential zone, making it more desirable.

Half way through your residential zone i would connect another avenue to allow the transport faster movement.

It looks like your industry is in the same region as your residential? If thats so i'd remove the industry completely from there and create another region next to your residential and start it there instead. This allows you to create lots of dirty industry without impacting on your residents.

Here's my little town so far:

Residential:

Took me ages to do that pond. Also note the secluded mayors (my) house with its private tennis court  This part is where all the rich (should) live, but since i've only got dirty industry so far, i'll let the bums move in for now :p

Where the dead rest:

Very out of the way with only the (currently) unused train tracks for company

Part (about 1/9th!) of the region:

Looks like I got my work cut out and this is the smallest of three cities I plan for this region, back to work! :)

Thanks for the feedback! Nope, my industry and residential are on two different tiles :)

TheOverLord that looks really good so far!

If i was you, i'd try reducing the funding of the WTE plants and building more coal plants, you'd end up saving more money considering its 310 to max out coal plants and like 1.2k for WTE.

Also check the usage of the port, is it being used enough to compensate the monthly cost?

im thinking what im gona do is start another RES zone, and build that up using the jobs from the Ind Zone.

my old Res zone will then start to fun building work on the com city further along the river. with the main goal of slowly phasing out ind jobs and having all my sims working in a com city.....

aghh can't get my head around using different regions I'm, used to the old sim city where you have just one place for everything and neighbors to trade with.

I got Rush Hour yesterday... jeez, screw GTA for best game soundtrack, SC4 is owning it... not the messed up jazz stuff, but that spellbinding classical stuff, its awesome!

That's a nice looking map. Did you terraform it yourself or is it in the game? I can't remember seeing it.

He probably imported it from an image ( so downloaded)...

doesnt seem to be in any more, you build the neihbouring cites too, and can move people bewteen them for work etc.

You can, go to your finances and open neighbor deals...
For power and water you need to start the deal in the city that is selling it...
Can't remember how garbage worked but in a similar way too...

Right those who are building all thier res in one "region zone"/city then their industrial etc in another, do you have have to quit to region every time you want to make changes to the other?

how can i make deals? i can't seem to find it :(

There still here.

Click the wierd $ symbol which shows you income. Then click the box to expand it giving you more information. There is neighbour hood deals in both the income/outgoing sections.

Bugger. This thread got me playing again last night. Some great downloadable content available.

Here's to another late one....

After reading through this thread, I think I'm going to have to dig out SC4 again. Never really got into it, as I never really knew how to play it, but reading up about using different tiles for separating stuff up makes lots of sense, and should help greatly :)
